The bus ride home was one of the happiest I've ever had. I could hardly wait for the next day. The loud screeching children were muted and the strange smell of the seats were barely noticeable. It felt like a breath of fresh air.
The longer the ride went on the more I started to realize what this party could mean for me. What if no one liked me? What if I make a bad impression? The question kept spiraling in my head until someone tapped my shoulder. He looked at me with an awkward smile and said nervously "Are uh...are you alright there?" The slender figure next to me on the bus. I had not even noticed. I nodded slowly.
I watched him carefully making sure not to be known. He seemed older than me. "Coward" I muttered in a low voice. "Crybaby..." I could almost taste his personally. It was horrible and felt like drowning in a sea of fire. We reached the next stop and he moved seats. "And jacka**..." I sighed and continued to think.
I arrived home and I was immediately greeted with the welcoming scowls of my parents. They look happy but the ora they give off are less than so. More stressed and tired. Can't wait until I'm an adult. I walk in the house and do the same routine. Every day. Every year. It had gotten tiring. I would have given anything to change the routine. The only thing that ever kept my soul sane here was the music I played while working. I used to love working, but not anymore.
At the end of my day, I usually do not much but listen to music but right now I'm doing something different. There was something different about today. I was happy for some reason. It was something relevant enough to make me remember the feeling, but I could not remember why I felt that way. Did my parents ask a new question? No. Did someone get beaten up? No. Maybe it wasn't that important after all.
