Chapter Nine: Eric, Dave and the Queen

* Mark's Phase *

Dave was very angry When he knew the kidnapper. He left the palace like a crazy man without telling what will he do. His eyes were the most terrifying thing that I have ever seen. I think he will kill someone tonight.

I tried to call Sam to be careful from Dave but he didn't answer my calls. I knew that I wanted to get rid of him but things have changed and I can't trust Dave anymore. I think it will be better if Sam and me leave all of this behind and leave Natalie to her fate.

I took my car and asked Edward to drive to the location where Natalie is taken. I sent a text to Sam to let the guards allow me to get through. I waited in the car for a few minutes then the guards called my name and one of them showed me the way to Sam's room.

Sam asks "What's wrong? Why you came all this way? Eric will kill you."

Mark looks worried "Please listen!" continued my talk "It's Dave ... Dave will kill someone. When he knew that Eric is alive, he left the palace madly. Sam please let's go, let's leave all of this behind."

"I can't ! I can't leave Natalie."

Mark starts shouting "You will get yourself killed because of her! She is one of them. I didn't know that from the first time Dave spoke to me!!"

Sam shouts "I became one of them too."

"What ?!! How could you?"

I backed off from the shock and walked off to the door when Sam tried to stop me and explaining the situation of being half human half vampire and about the promise and how Eric is innocent.

"I chose to be one of them to protect Natalie my childhood friend I can't betray her."

"Okay fine, but don't forget that I warned you; they can't be trusted."

I left him angrily and had eye contact with Eric who was calm Looking at me with a smile. His smile wasn't evil, I looked at him for a couple of seconds and left praying that he won't betray Sam.

I must leave that place now, I don't feel Safe here. When I got to my car I knew that something is off. There is a scent of Smoke, I know that the driver doesn't smoke.

"Hey Edward when did you start smoking?"

Edward didn't answer back which is suspicious to me. When I touched his shoulders, they were strong, Edward isn't strong he is 60 years old. That person isn't Edward!!

* Natalie's Phase *

The last couple of days, I felt stronger. My face has taken another shape; it became more thinner but soft, I feel as if my teeth are stronger and Sharper now that one day I cut my lip accidentally and my blood tastes horrible. But, I remember that I used to love to taste my own blood when I were hit or when my teeth is replaced. Why is it different now?

I looked at the mirror and I'm shocked when I saw my hair grew and became that thick, actually I'm happy about it. But, how ? I didn't eat well, How did it graw fast?

I noticed the pile of books beside my bed, I decided to read my favorite one when someone knocked on the door a gentle knock. I ordered the visitor to enter, Sam is looking nice and cheerful for the first time. But, something is different.

"How are you feeling? You look beautiful today."

"Those words make my heart flatters. I'm pretty good but a little overwhelmed."
