Xen's eyes slightly widened at the sight of multiple mansions with four, five, six-car garages resigning in one of the richest areas in New York coming closer into his view as he and Angel entered the tall, black gates stopping anyone's entry to the neighborhood after putting in a code.

The mansions were sitting on acres of green land, large pools and ponds occupying the space with iron gates surrounding each individual's land. Their lawns were the neatest and greenest he had ever seen in his entire life. The streets of the neighborhood were squeaky clean, not a drop of car oil, a pothole, or a piece of trash in sight.

Every single house he drove by had all their lights on, a little odd to him, but he guessed they didn't care about the light bill like he did since they seemed to have more than enough to pay it.

Porsches, Rolls Royce's, Benz's galore were lined up in most of the driveways. Of course, Xen began to look like the odd one out driving in this type of neighborhood with his 2011 Kia Optima.

"This the area?" Xen asked in utter disbelief, averting his attention on his girlfriend, Angel, who nodded her head like seeing this neighborhood wasn't impressive and an everyday thing for her. "You sure? I-,"

"Yes, I'm sure, damn! How would I not know where my own mother lives, Xen? You sound really dumb right now," Her face was scrunched up in irritation, smacking her hand against her leg as she scolded him for being so stupid. "Now keep driving forward until you see a white mansion with a gray walkway and park in the driveway."

"I ain't mean it like that, I just wanted to make sure, ma." He genuinely didn't believe her parents lived in a such place with...money? Big money, too, not a little bit of money! If her parents were wealthy, why was she living with him in a one bedroom apartment in Los Angeles when she could be living the life here?

This made him realize how little Angel ever spoke of her parents. Starting with what he knew, Xen knew her mother and biological father separated when she was younger, but got back together and married one another when she was 18. She was born and raised in New York, but left to go to college in Los Angeles-which is how she got there. Unfortunately, she didn't finish school and dropped out her first year, ending up in her staying in California. Now that was 3 years ago. Why not go back?
