The rest of the week passed by quickly, with no silly encounters between me and Ace. It was mostly about farewells, as the entire office surprised me with a mini farewell party. I guess that's one of the perks of being a good boss.

It was quite ridiculous, to be honest. People were acting as if I was going to stay there forever, which is definitely not the case. It's just a matter of 14 days, only two weeks.

I'm not feeling like going. I miss Hayden so much. It feels like I've lost a part of myself. It's only been a couple of weeks, but the house feels incredibly empty without him. Just to clarify, Hayden doesn't actually live with me. He's quite nosy and loves having mini sleepovers at my place.

Oh, by the way, you guys don't know who Hayden is. Well, Hayden is unlike me. He's a fun person, a special person. He's my best friend, the only one who truly understands me. He keeps me safe, like best friends should. We've been best friends since high school.

He was the super hot soccer player, and I was the self-conscious nerd with glasses who happened to live next door to him. I was being bullied at the time, and he came to my rescue. We hit it off immediately, and what can I say, it was love at first sight.

I don't like admitting it, but I had a crush on him in high school. However, I had to shake off those feelings because I knew he would never feel the same way. In any case, we're best friends, and nothing will ever change that.

I almost forgot to mention Hayley. Hayley is the other twin. She's the dramatic one, the crazy head. She's bubbly and sweet, and she balances me out.

Here I am, sitting upright, staring at the gray walls of my bedroom. This is a typical Saturday for me.

Speaking of the devil, I hear a voice. His voice. I quickly turn to look at him, and there he is.

"Oh my god, when did you come back?" I ask while rushing in for a hug. I missed this, the warm hugs, the silly pet names.

"A few minutes ago. I thought I'd see lover girl without a lover first," he tell me and his hot breath fans the side of my neck.

"Am I growing on you, HADES?" I ask, while letting go. This hug was more realistic than I thought and longer than most, making things a little awkward.

"Yes, get over it, black, and you know I love you."

"I feel so loved," I fake wiping tears off my cheek.

"You should," he says, sitting on the other side of my bed like he owns it.

"Proud much?"

"Only for you, babe," he says with a smirk.

"I feel so special," I put a hand on the left side of my chest.

"You don't need to say it, I know I'm amazing." He tells me.

"Says the player."

"Says the player who is madly in love with you," he adds.

"Sorry, I'm taken."

"Ouch," he gestures an aching heart. What a drama king.

"Don't cry, I'm all yours."

"Thought so," he says with a grin.

"Cocky much?"

"Only the best for you, love."

"Apart from seeing me, what's the other reason you are here?"

I see his facial expression shift to something I can't comprehend.
"It's... it's Bianca. She... she broke up with me."

"Wait, why? I thought you were happy together. Did you do something?" I don't like seeing him like this.

"I didn't do anything. It wasn't my fault this time. She did this to us."

I stride over to his side, engulfing him into a hug. He hugs back. I feel him calming down.

Sometimes, no words can help. Just physical reassurance is needed.

"What about you? Any love interests or lover boy I need to beat up?"

"Well, not really," I lay down beside him. "Talking about love interests, I'm going to be in Miami for two weeks. I'm leaving Monday."

"Wait, why? No, I just came back. You can't go now. I want to spend time with you. It's been so damn long. I won't let you go.

"I don't really have a choice in the matter. There's a meeting I'm supposed to attend, and there has been some sort of drama in our branch that I'm supposed to sort out as well."

"Noooo, you can't gooo," he whines like a 3-year-old.

"What are you? 10?" I cross my hand over my stomach.

"You know who else is a 10?" He smiles, and that smile should be labeled illegal in the Constitution of the United States.

"Oh my god, you're crazy!" I throw a pillow at his head.

"So, you are really going?" His serious look is now in play.

"Yep," I emphasize the "p" in the word, "the worst part is I'm going with this whites, stupid business partner of mine. Lord, why me?"

"You mean Jones White?" he questions in complete oblivion.

"Of course not, you idiot!" I elbow him in the side. "It's his son, whites, I mean Ace. But he's snobbish and a flirt. I hate him."

"Woah. you. Hate black hate someone" he says, word by word, in an amused tone.
"That's not the point, the point here is I hate him and I can't do anything about it."

Some silence, then, "I wish you good luck on trying not to murder the new white in your life." Seriously, what an AMAZING best friend I have.

"You are so annoying. I think you guys should really start appreciating the effort I put into not becoming a serial killer."

"What?" Surprised much?

"You heard me." Looking at the ceiling, I wish I were a ceiling. No Ace, no overworked dad, no company stuff. Just sitting up there against the wishes of gravity, looking at how stupid humans are."
