This isn't that bad I promise. Also, I apologize in advance for the first paragraph.

I awoke to a laughing jeer. "Look at Sleeping Beauty, boys! Rise and shine, Greene." The Cyclops who laughed was pretty good-looking. That was if you could get past the one-eyed thing. He looked more handsome than some other Cyclops I had met.

As I blinked my eyes rapidly, my mind was seared by a bright light. I saw, as the pain faded, a rather large group of monsters surrounding me. Cyclops, empousai, a couple of demons. It was like the underworld decided to throw a party and I was the entertainment.

My hands and feet were bound with rope, weapon lying ten feet away. I groaned internally. Analyzing my surroundings, I noticed a sharp piece of plastic near me.

The monster who first spoke began taunting me again. "The great Thomas Greene is brought low by our forces! You're losing your touch, demigod." He patted the side of my face. I stared coldly at him, calm and defiant. The Cyclops didn't seem to notice. "I have something for you, you know. A performance of the highest caliber! Your final 'swan song,' if you will."

The room erupted into cheers. My breath quickened and I reached for the plastic. I dodged a few hands that had noticed me and cut away the rope from my hands quickly. The monsters all realized my escape by now, desperately trying to catch me. I retrieved my sword and faced the horde.

"Now now, demigod," the Cyclops tried, "I don't think this is wise. You know that, don't you, Wisdom's son? If you try to escape, I'll make sure everyone you love will be torn apart with that camp of yours."

I involuntarily gasped quietly. Newt was in danger because of me. I growled. "Don't you dare touch him."

The monsters laughed.

"So he speaks! I'm sure we can come to an arrangement." The Cyclops suit was sparkling clean and its salmon color was surprisingly non-grotesque.

"I won't deal with you." I backed up.

The leader smiled. "Oh, but you have no choice." he pointed behind me.

I turned, just in time to get smacked in the head with a pole. The darkness swarmed my senses, but I made out one last voice.

"What a spectacle you'll be."

See? It wasn't that bad. Surely.
