The party was starting to wind down after a few more hours, most of the guests had gone on home, leaving just the original six from the Avengers, along with Emma, Bucky, and Sam, were all seated around on the sofa.

"So, are you gonna be working alongside us?" Tony wondered, glancing over at Clint.

"I'm not sure yet" She answered, picking up the bottle.

"Emma is still recovering" Clint answered.

Bucky was watching everyone, wondering how Clint knew about her. As he had a family.

"Recovering from what?" Bruce questioned.

He was sat beside Natasha, close enough to hold her hand, but they weren't touching. Emma could see what was going on, wondering how nobody else had noticed.

"I was shot" Emma said, wanting off this topic.

"Shot? Hang on, what exactly is it that you do?" Steve asked, clearly surprised.

"Emma here is an agent for shield" Natasha laughed.

"How come you know that, and we don't?" Sam asked.

"Because Nat knows me"

"Oh, you guys worked together then?" Sam quizzed.

"Hang on, nobody is gonna question on how she was shot, and what had happened?" Bruce then said.

"Maybe you should just leave it for now" Natasha said, glancing over at Emma, seeing how awkward she looked.

Emma shifted in her seat a little, feeling a tad uncomfortable. While the place then started chatting about something else. Leaving her relieved that Natasha had picked up on it. She drank deeply from the bottle she was holding, before feeling the eyes on her.

Looking over, she found Bucky was watching her.

He indicated to her to come over to the bar with her.

"Anyone wanting another?" He asked, getting up.

Everyone nodded or raised up there nearly empty drinks.

"I'll help" Emma quickly said, getting up as well.

As they stood at the bar, while Bucky was getting everyone's drinks, knowing what they had. He stood making things and putting bottles up on the counter.

"You alright?" Bucky asked.

"I'm fine" She answered.

"Look, if you don't wanna talk about it, just tell me to mind my own business"

She looked up into his blue eyes, thinking how much they reminded her of the beautiful waters in the West Coast.

"It's fine. Maybe some other time, we can talk about it. Tonight. I just need to keep my mind from it" She replied.

He nodded, understanding, before putting everything onto a tray and carried it back to the lounge.

The elevator doors opened, the three of them stepped into the lobby, which was between their apartments.

"Would you like to come in for a drink?" Bucky asked.

This made her laugh.

"We were just drinking James" She retorted.

He looked bothered she had said this.

"So, that's a, no?" He questioned, unsure.

"I'm not ready to go to sleep yet" She said.
