while me and colby begin a normal conversation, there's a knock on the door. he excuses himself and gets up to see who's there. it's all of their friends so he lets them in and they all gather in the living room. i notice some looks at me and since i'm nervous i tried to avoid them. "guys, this is y/n. she's our new neighbor and friend. she just moved in 2 days ago!" sam says, patting my shoulder. "why don't you all introduce yourselves." he tells them. "i'm devyn, corey's girlfriend!" "i'm stas" "im kian" "im jc" "im reggie" "im cassie, reggie's girlfriend" "im matt" "im kevin!" they all introduce themselves. "hello, nice to meet you all!" i smile, looking around at everyone, feeling a little bit intimidated. devyn walks over to me with a big smile. "hey, cheer up. you'll have lots of fun in promise!" she smiles cheerfully. i nod and thank her and we go sit down. "alright so, for y/n, im gonna explain this all." sam announces and starts explaining. once he's done, it's time for us to start the video. "okay, does everyone have their phones ready?" sam asks while making sure his camera is ready. he does his intro before introducing everyone to the camera, me being last. "and this is our new friend, y/n. say hi!" he says and points to me. i'm a little caught off guard but i shake it off. i smile and wave at the camera. "great! anyways, you all know the rules so let's started. remember, only inside and you guys got 5 minutes!" he says and we all stand up. only being to this house a few times, i'm not really sure where any good hiding spots are. sam is talking to the camera as he walks out the front door. alright, what's a good place? i think to myself. i look around, really studying the house. he's going to be blindfolded so, it makes this a little easier. i walk around and look for a good spot. i go to the bathroom. i look under the sink to see if it's easy enough for me to hide. it's not so i leave and look somewhere else. i see colby looking around and he smiles at me. "hey y/n, you can come hide in my bedroom with me, just different spots". i nod and follow him to his room. i look at his closet and it's huge, let me tell you. i open the door and go in. there's a really nice spot in the back so i get myself situated. and to my surprise, i hear sam walking inside and shutting the door. "good luck y/n" colby whispers from his spot. "thanks, you too" i chuckle a little. i look back at my phone to see i got a text from jake on instagram. i make a small confused face but get on to answer. i make sure my phone is turned down, everything's on silent, and my brightness is down. i go to our messages and it's just him asking if i found a hiding spot. i send a quick 'i did. i'm in colby's room', before shutting off my phone. i let out a silent sigh and get a little more comfortable. it's pretty dark in here but i'm still able to see some things. while waiting, i hear sam's loud voice letting everyone know he's found two people in the living room. it's a little muffled so it's harder to make out who he found. i cover my mouth to quiet down my chuckle. i check my phone again and see that colby texted. i check the message and he's asking if i heard who got found. i reply back with 'no, it's muffled from the closet. i just know he's found two people'. it takes a few minutes before my phone lights up again. by now, the noise has subsided and i only hear footsteps. i look at the message and it says that kevin and matt were found. i smile and send a thumbs up emoji before shutting my phone off again. i start to drift off a little as this is making me bored just sitting here. but i stop myself because i don't want to be filmed asleep or get found. i start to hear sam a lot clearer which seems like he's around the entry way. all i can make out from what he's saying is "matt and kevin have been found." and something like "8-9 more to go". i silently congratulate myself as im usually around the first few to be found. but this house is much bigger so it's easier to win. i hear more commotion which sounds like he found some more people. i try to lean forward a little bit to hear. i concentrate on what he's saying and i hear that he's found jake. i laugh to myself and hear him come closer again. uh oh. i hear footsteps coming up and i shut my mouth. "let's check jake's room, then colby's, then mine" he says. well crap. i hear the bedroom door next to me open and two people walk in. the door shuts again so whoever's in there is in trouble. hopefully he doesn't find me as i'm pretty well hidden in colby's closet. i check my phone and notice it's been a few since the game started. i play with the rings on my fingers while waiting for sam to finish up in jake's room. i hear two loud laughs and a scream coming from jake's room. "alright, reggie and cassie are out!" i hear. 'wow, the classic couple hiding together' i say to myself. "let's look in other places just to make sure." he says. my heart beats faster as he gets closer and closer to coming into colby's room. finally the door to colby's room opens and i'm like 'well crap'. he starts walking around the room and i hear whispers coming from sam and i guess whoever's holding the camera now. i try my best to take a silent deep breath as the footsteps get closer and then farther. "is that a person i feel?" sam says. i quickly put my hand over my mouth to stop myself from laughing out loud. colby curses to himself as he gets up from his hiding spot. "colby is out! i think we have y/n, corey, devyn, kian, and jc to find." oh god now they're gonna find me. i sit there and silent hope they don't find me in here. but the footsteps start up again and head towards the closet. oh no pls don't find me. the closet door opens and from the corner of my eye, i see sam. im hidden in the back behind a basket so hopefully he can't see me. wait he's blindfolded, i forgot. he starts rummaging around the closet and touching everything to find someone. as he gets closer, i feel his hand knock into my shoulder. "uh oh, i think i just found someone" i feel him tap my head and i hear a small 'yes' come from him. i groan and stand up. "congrats sam, you found me" i roll my eyes even tho he can't see. i look over to see kevin behind him with a big smile. ive seen him on youtube before so its not like i have no idea who he is. i give sam and little shove on his shoulder. "good luck finding everyone else." i say and leave the closet. i head out of colby's room and go downstairs to where all of the others are. "i thought that was a good spot" i huff and plop down on to the couch in defeat. colby and jake laugh, jake giving me a pat on the shoulder. i smile at jake and get on my phone while waiting for sam to finish up. i check to see if anyone else has messaged me and my mom did. i open up the text and she's just checking up on me and asking if i've made new friends. i smile at the text and colby sees me. "whatcha smiling at?" he asks. "oh, just my moms text. she's just checking up on me and seeing if i've made any new friends" i tell him. "well, you sure have." he laughs. i nod and text my mom back and tell her im doing great and ive made some great friends. i shut my phone off and we all wait for sam to finish up.
—time skip—
after about 30 minutes later, sam comes back down to announce the winner. his blindfold is off and he's got a smile on his face. "and the winner is... devyn!" he announces. we all cheer and clap. she must've hid really good to win. "anyways, that's the end of the video! i hope you all enjoyed and i'll put everyone's youtube/socials in the description. don't for get to like and subscribe, also, buy the merch!! bye everyone!" he says and shuts the camera off. he plops down onto the couch and looks at me. "so, did you enjoy it?" he asks. i smile, "yes i did. it was really fun and im glad i got to meet everyone!" everyone gives me a smile. finally, everyone starts leaving and we all say our goodbyes. "well guys, im gonna head home now" i say. "bye y/n, have a good night!" they tell me. i say the same thing and head to the front door. i put my shoes on and leave.
