(Third Person)
The natural sunlight raided the crevices of Kaede's room, not failing to miss a spot. It made her golden, bed-head locks glisten, and it made her smooth skin seem as perfect as can be.

The light eventually crept into her eyes, causing her to stir. She let out a low groan and slowly picked herself up from her original sleeping position, sitting upright in her bed, and stretched her arms out.

She yawned and slowly unfolded her blanket, letting her feet drop to the floor and into cotton, pink slippers.

She moved to her mirror at the only pace that could keep her awake, yawning every now and then. When she had eventually arrived at the full-body mirror, she looked into it, and stared into the eyes of her own. She then looked up to her static hair, few parts stuck up as if a balloon had been rubbed against them. She gently picked up her hairbrush from her dresser, and neattened the parts that stuck up; leaving alone her ahoge, of course. Her hair smoothed down into her everyday hairstyle and she seemed pleased with her work - a tired smile appearing on her face.

Once Kaede had finished her hair, she walked over to her dresser, placing the hairbrush back and reaching towards the top drawer, containing piled upon piled clothing. She took out her normal outfit: A pale, pastel pink-coloured sweater-vest; this complimented the darkish-pink skirt that had a music pattern of an unknown song imprinted on it; a basic white, button shirt to go under the vest; inky, black socks; and a pair of caramel-brown shoes. She quickly got changed, admiring herself in the mirror as she did so. She wiped her skirt, back-to-front, as to removed any wrinkles.

Once she was sure it was completely crinkle-free, she smiled and then started at the door. She swung it open, maybe a bit too much, causing a small crashing sound as the door clashed with the wall it was hinged onto. This earned a tiny yell for her parents, but that didn't ruin her bubbly mood, nothing could. She had a date with Shuichi today, leaving her absolutely thrilled, so thrilled she barely slept the previous night. It didn't matter how many times they would go out together, it would always keep Kaede excited, as if she could never get bored of it, and never get bored of it she did.

She ran into the bathroom, swiftly picked up her toothbrush and toothpaste. She squeezed and lined the toothpaste against the toothbrush, and ran it under the sink's water before ramming it in her mouth and brushing till perfection. Two minutes later, she spat it out, rinsed her mouth with more tap water, and bolted downstairs.

As she neared the door, she picked up her white backpack (which was stacked with treats and drinks she would bring to the date), and shouted to her parents that she was going out for a bit. She didn't get a response but she didn't care.

She opened the door, being careful as to not be too violent this time, yet slammed it shut anyway. She was just too excited, could you really blame a girl?

Anyway, she pretty much darted towards the park like a lightning bolt, possibly fast enough to cause whiplash to pedestrians.

By the time she was there, she was completely out of breath. She hunched over, gripped onto her knees and chest as she tried to catch air. She eventually glanced up to see Shuichi, he was also wearing his typical outfit: plain black hat with a three-striped and white logo; his black blazer buttoned up, covering his blank shirt which barely peeked up at the collar and sleeves; formal trousers which matched with the jacket; and lastly, undecorated, ink-coloured shoes.

How long was he standing there...?

"Oh! H-hey Shu..ichi!" She spoke, yet she was still lacking oxygen.

She gave him an awkward grin, which he returned with a slight smile, also quite nervous.

"Uh...are you okay?" Shuichi looked at her with a face of genuine concern.

Suddenly, she felt herself revive and stood straight upwards, as if he gave her superpowers.

"Yup! Totally fine!!" She beamed proudly at him, and she could hear a quiet chuckle from him, causing her to smile just more, "so! Where are we going? You got a spot?"

Shuichi stopped chuckling and seemed to turn a bit embarrassed and nervous. He tipped his hat to cover his blush, yet it didn't work entirely, just nearly reaching his cheeks.

"U-uh...y-yeah.." He managed to stutter out, still hiding behind his hat of shame.

"Oh cool! Can you lead me there?" Kaede held her hand out to him, "take my hand."

Shuichi then hesitantly grabbed her delicate hand, linking their fingers together.

He started walking to a nearby forest, his shoes clacking against the pavement as he did. Kaede followed, being ever so slightly less noisy with her leather shoes. They moved off of the concrete and onto the grass, it was quite dry as it had not rained for a while.

Shuichi parted a branch from his pathway and held it for Kaede, letting go of her hand in order to do so.

Kaede willing walked in, being greeted by the scent of sugary sweets and fresh flowers. She looked over what Shuichi had set up; a simple picnic blanket stacked with treats such as strawberry shortcake (also known as Kaede's favourite pudding) and a couple of glasses filled with what she assumed was lemonade and coke. As she glanced over at the shortcake, she felt her sweet tooth kick in, causing a smile to flash onto her face.

"Wow..." She admired at the neat work Shuichi had made, all this effort just for the two of them, "Shuichi...I-...I don't know what to say...this is beautiful..."

Kaede moved closer to the blanket. When she was pretty much on it, she got on her knees and shuffled towards the strawberry shortcake.

Shuichi gently lifted his hat back up, revealing his smile. He released the branch from his grip and it snapped back, which made him slightly jump, yet he put his focus back on his gorgeous girlfriend. He moved over to her, and sat criss-crossed right next to her.

Although Kaede drooled for the cake, she held in the urge to gobble it all up in one go. She was about to reach for one of the plastic forks from the collection of cutlery in a pop-up, portable case, but Shuichi nudged her shoulder with his, and when she looked back she saw him holding the two glasses of lemonade and coke. The lemonade glass in his left hand, the hand closer to her, and the coke one in his right. Her smile spread wider like an endless rainbow, no limits, as she took the lemonade from his left hand.

"To our picnic date!"
"Y-yeah...to our picnic date!"

They clashed the cups together, making sure as to not spill any of the liquids inside, and tipped their heads back, pressing the tips of the cups on their lips while allowing the lemonade and coke spill down their throats.
