Annabelle’s POV:
I groaned I wanted to know where we were going but Luke never told me anything. I was about to head back to sleep but I realized I had nothing to wear to a fancy event. I quickly got the money I hid under my bed and picked a dress to wear to the mall. The dress was white with flowers printed over it, it was sleeveless and I put on a braided headband. I headed out the door with my purse; the mall was just a few blocks away.

I had been at the mall for almost 4 hours and I had found nothing. Not a single dress was good enough! Either I didn’t like it, it cost too much or there wasn’t any in my size. I was frustrated; I stopped at Starbucks for a drink. I was now sitting in one of the tables, sipping my drink. A few moments later a girl walked in, she was about my age, taller than me by a good 2 inches. Her long blonde hair flowed behind her back. She had a skater chick kind of look. She wore a t-shirt with ‘pierce the veil’ written in bold letters, ripped skinny jeans, VANS and she had a skateboard. I continued sipping my drink staring out the window when I felt a presence in front of me. I turned to see the skater girl sitting on the other side of the table smiling at me.
“Hi I’m Christina” She smiled
“Hey” I smiled weakly
“You can call me Chris, I hate the name Christina” She added
She had such a bubbly personality. I actually liked that.
“I’m Annabelle” I said smiling at her.
“You don’t mind me sitting here right?” Chris questioned
“Not at all” I replied
“So what are you doing at the mall Annabelle?” Chris asked curiously
“I’m looking for a dress, for my date tonight” I answered
“Awww do you have a boyfriend” Chris cooed laughing
I blushed
“Yeah, it’s our 3 month anniversary” I sighed “But I can’t find a dress”
“Well let’s get going!” Chris chirped jumping up from the chair and dragging me along
“I may not dress girly but I know what things are cute” Chris added
She led me into a store, it was a cute little boutique and there were thousands of dresses.
We shopped, looking through racks and racks. I tried on a million dresses! Chris just never got tired. It was almost 5 in the afternoon.
“Chris we haven’t found one good dress” I whined walking of the dressing room with a pile of dresses I didn’t like.
“Wait, try this one!” She chirps handing me yet another dress “I think this is going to be the one” Chris smiled sincerely.
“Alright” I groaned taking the dress and walked into a fitting room. I pulled on the dress and looked at myself in the mirror. The dress was strapless, the top part was white and covered in tiny sparkling sequins, and there was a thin strap around my waist that was black with little silver stud details. The rest of the dress flowed out; it was a minty blue color. The dress was gorgeous, this really was the one.
I stepped out of the fitting room to show Chris the dress.
Chris gasped when she saw me.
“You look absolutely stunning!” She squealed “This is the one! You have to buy it!” She urged
“Okay, okay” I laughed twirling for the last time before I took off the dress.
Chris didn’t seem all that into the girly things but in reality she was having a good time. Chris was different; she was bubbly and girly but dressed like a skater which she was. I knew she loved skating. I think we would become really good friends.
