Trigger warning: Child Loss. Alcoholism, Homicide
As an ER doctor,
I have many stories.
Some happy, some sad,
And some that make me worry.
But the worst ones of all
Are the ones when you know
It's too late for your patient,
Soon's their final bow.
Case in point:
I once had someone
Who had anger issues,
But wouldn't hurt anyone.
He was always here,
Back and forth.
So I asked him why,
Not expecting the secrets I would unearth.
He told me his story,
It wasn't nice.
It shows that life
Can be as cold as ice.
He once had a family,
A life that was new.
He always thought
It was too good to be true.
One day,
He fought with his wife.
Just some normal
Marital strife.
To take out his anger,
He powered his car.
He didn't expect this
To go too far.
He backed put of the driveway
As hard as could be.
Didn't realize it was the last day
Of his family.
His young child was playing
On the driveway.
So by backing his car,
He killed his baby that way.
He never recovered,
Instead relying on wine.
Waiting on the day
He would fade away with time.
'Cause whenever he remembers
His son's tragic fate.
He thinks that it's his fault,
And already too late:
