Warnings: I don't write a lot of things that need warnings, but this one is years old so be warned of bad grammar and a crappy plot.
(also due to copyright, all character rights go to JK Rowling. I write this as a hobby so the only thing that is mine is the OCs and subplots.)
Currently, I was hiding in the library reading 'The Beatle and the Bard' to myself, trying not to cry. It had been an hour, and eight minutes since the possibly most embarrassing thing to ever happen to me happened. I tapped my pen, not even able to concentrate on the words being read. My heart raced. Suddenly a flash of red hair appeared in front of me, making me jump.
"Relax Sara, it's Fred," The freckled boy said shaking his head and chuckling at my scared reaction. I let out a breath.
"Oh sorry Freddie" I apologized while holding up my book to hide my red face. Well, I was all too aware of the boy in front of me, I flipped pages at random to make it seem like I was paying attention.
"So what happened earlier, why'd you just run off" He hadn't heard George and I's mortifying conversation.
....
(An hour earlier)
I was focused on my food, it was pancake day and I loved pancakes dearly. I drizzled the watery maple syrup all over the pancake, and suddenly my pancake came to life. The orange syrup seeped into the fluffy batter and morphed into a mouth.
I was taken aback by the transformation. I had a little pancake child! I giggled as I fed the little creature an orange. it scarfed it down.
"Hello Sara." a voice chuckled in my ear. I bobble in my seat in surprise. George Weasley sat next to me and pointed at my pancake baby. "How do you like your gift?" he asked cheekily.
I rolled my eyes. "Of course you made him." I sighed. "He is very cute I must admit. I'm thinking about naming him." I joked slightly. I giggle at myself.
"You're the only person in the world who would name a pancake monster within five seconds of meeting it." George laughed at me. I flushed.
"I'm sure Hagrid would be obliged to it as well" I argued, folding my arms in my lap.
"That would be a good experiment." George wiggled his brows. I sighed softly at the man. They were his eyes twinkling and the smile lines around his mouth. I couldn't help but flush a bit as I stared at him. "So..." He said, dragging out the 'O' "A little ginny told me you got the hots for the most charming wizard at Hogwarts." He said.
My stomach dropped. I had forgotten about that bet... the bet that let Ginny tell George that I had fallen head over heels for the twin. "what?" I said, my brain going fuzzy.
"That's me if you couldn't tell." he smiled cheekily. I could bunch his handsome face. Instead, I fled.
...
(present time)
"I told Ginny to tell George that I liked him" I mumbled dropping my book on the table, and burying my head in my arms, my cheeks slowly getting warmer from thinking about it.
"You did what?!" he laughed loudly, pretending to wipe fake tears from his eyes.
"Fred!" I whined "Can you just like obliviate me? Or better use the killing curse." I pouted refusing to look at the twin of the boy I liked.
He scoffed "You're as red as Ginny's hair"
I groaned "You're not helping Fred, listen I'm not in the mood to talk so if you're not gonna read then go away please" I pleaded.
"Fine you don't have to talk to me, but Georgie's on his way over here" Fred teased
"WHAT" I said as I whipped my head up and towards the door where surely enough George was walking towards us, suddenly my book became very VERY interesting.
"I'll leave you two alone" Fred teased while getting up and doing a little finger wave.
'Git' I mouthed at him.
'Your welcome' he mouthed back.
As George approached, the grip on my book became tighter "Hey" He greeted. I nodded my head at him, avoiding his spectacular eyes. "I didn't want to make you avoid me." He joked, nudging my shoulder.
"Yup," My knuckle now becoming white as I squeezed the book in my hand.
"If it makes you feel any better I like you too. I have for a while," He said, stretching his arms back as he leaned in his chair. Finally, I looked at him,
"How do you do that?" I asked. He tilted his head in confusion.
"What."
"Speak so freely at a time like this." I pouted as I put my hands on my warm cheeks.
"Are you kidding?" He laughed quietly. "I'm nervous as hell right now. Feel." George took my hands in his. His palms were warm and sweaty. They shook slightly. Somehow this made me feel better.
I finally looked into his eyes and smiled bashfully.
"I wouldn't have said anything if it weren't for Fred winning a stupid bet." I let out a snort as I realized the situation.
"I wouldn't have had Ginny say anything if it weren't for losing a bet..." I sighed. George gave me a knowing look.
"So what now?" George asked. I shrugged. he thought for a moment. "Sara?" he asked. Suddenly becoming a bit more formal, yet still holding his childish tone. "Will you go on a date with me?"
