He looked down at his sweaty palms, before looking back up at his lifelong friend and childhood crush, Gwen Stacy. She was a beautiful blonde, sporting an undercut and an eyebrow piercing. She had strikingly gorgeous blue eyes, a cute little gap in her teeth.
"Kaleb? You okay?" She placed her hand on his, as he shifted to prevent her from noticing how incredibly sweaty they were.
"I-uh, yeah. I'm fine. All good over here, how are you?" She chuckled at the poorly made reference to her favorite film, before briefly looking down and brushing her hair out of her face.
'God, her smile.' He thought, as his heart skipped a beat. She was perfect.
"I'm.. great." She nodded slightly, before noticing her hand was still on top of his. She blushed, before yanking it back to her side of the table. Kaleb pulled his hand even closer to his chest, before subtly wiping them on his pant legs.
"Was there something you wanted to tell me?" She asked, before rushing to clarify her statement that needed no clarification. Why couldn't she get her nerves under control? They were friends for years, it was just another hangout. "I-I mean, your text seemed pretty urgent."
"Uh.." His voice trailed off, as he found himself lost in her eyes. He snapped out of it, before looking away briefly. He saw Harry in the corner booth, holding a newspaper like he was in a spy movie. He lowered the newspaper and gave Kaleb a thumbs up, before he readjusted his sunglasses. Indoors.
"Yeah, there is, Gwen." He took a deep breath, as Gwen's heart started to race. Was this really happening? Was he going to ask what she thought he was? "We've been friends for, pshhhh, ever since I moved in across the hallway from you and your family. You've always been there for me whenever I've needed anything. I'm sorry I haven't always done the same, but I promise to. I'll always be there for you. What I'm saying, I guess, is that I'm in lo—"
She cut him off, crashing her lips onto his. His eyes widened, before he closed them. She put her hand on the back of his head, as she practically leaned over the pristine white table. They parted, both gasping for air, as she sat back in her seat. Both their faces immediately flushed, as Kaleb tried to hide it.
"I love you too, Kaleb. From the moment I saw you from my spot hiding behind my dad's legs as a kid, I knew that I loved you." His face grew even redder, if that was possible. Being the competitive person he was, he tried to come up with a rebuttal.
"Oh yeah? Well, I-I've been in love with you since.. before.. that." He stumbled over his words, as she giggled. She took his hand, before looking deep into his eyes.
"I love you, Kaleb Cross. I always have, and I always will." She cracked a smirk, before nodding back at the corner booth. "And you can tell Harry that he wasn't very inconspicuous with the whole James Bond disguise."

He looked at his hands, mechanical claws that belonged to a monster. He then shifted his gaze to the woman standing gracefully on the tree.
"Gwanda?" Morales' voice spoke first, breaking the deafening and seemingly endless silence.
"It's Gwen, actually." Revenant's ashy smoke enveloped him, as he disappeared from the small gathering.
"Oh, you know her, very cool." Peter said slyly, as all Revenant could think of was that night his Miles and his Gwen went to the movie. When Miles.. he couldn't even think about it without getting the urge to kill someone.
"I'm from another dimension. I mean, another, another dimension." Gwen explained, as Revenant reappeared as far away as his shadow form let him travel. He leaned against a tree, before sliding down into a sitting position. Arachnid noticed that Revenant disappeared, so he looked around, silently letting Gwen explain her backstory.
