E M I L Y ' S POV
((NOT EMILY KINNEY))The annoying buzzing of my alarm clock was what woke me from my dreamless slumber. I never have dreams anymore like when I was 5... Now I'm 17 and old and ugh. I'm a senior so this is my last year of this school shit. Thank God
With my head still buried into the pillow, I slap my hand around my nightstand until I successfully hit the snooze button on my annoying clock that loved to ruin the peace of the night, or shall I say morning.
Today is Tuesday January 16th. Which is nothing important just that I have school today. Blah. What's the point? I mean when am I ever going to use algebraic expressions and inequalities in my adulthood? Why not teach us about useful stuff like paying bills or writing checks? Maybe that's the problem with the world today. We spend 13 years of our life's learning useless shit that we might only use once or twice when instead we could be learning about buying a house or getting a job. But nope, that's not the way the cookie crumbles and I do as my mom says and "suck it up".
Maybe I can find a rich guy and marry him and then bam, all problems are solved.
"Emily! Get up or you're going to be late!" I hear my mom holler from the bottom of the stairs, she's too lazy to actually climb to the top so instead she decides to yell and complain about her throat hurting later.
I groan and kick the covers off of my body, wanting nothing more than to cuddle with my stuffed animals and watch re runs of American Horror Story all day.
Since it's the middle of winter I have to dress warm, which sucks because im most defiantly a tank top and shorts kind of girl.
Living in New York isn't the best but hey, you can buy damn near anything here.
I dig through my dresser, throwing out several pairs of perfectly good clothes onto my floor and continue complaining about how I have nothing to wear.
Finally I settle with a more comfortable approach and wear a baggie hoodie and black leggings.
I grab my cell phone off the charger and trot downstairs where my mom already had made a bowl of cereal for me.
I sit at the bar in the kitchen and began eating the bowl of Captain Crunch. "Anything important happening today?" I hear my mom ask from beside me.
I turn my head to look at her. She was already dressed and had her keys in her hand. Her brown hair was curled and she had slight makeup applied. "Nope.. today's Remediation day" I answer turning back to my food.
"Ok well... be careful and don't be late" my mom warns and kisses the side of my head, causing me to groan.
"Alright"
"See you later sweetie... I love you" she hollers as she exits the house.
I check the time. 7:50pm. 1st hour doesn't start until 8:30 so I have plenty of time.
As I'm eating my cereal I start to get thirsty so I get up and go to the refrigerator... only to find out there's no drinks.
"Ughhhh" I groan and slam the door shut. I guess I'll be stopping at the gas station on the way to school.
I throw my bowl into the sink and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair.. I decide against doing my makeup because it's a pain in the ass.
Finally after 15 minutes I'm out the door and into my black 2014 Chevy Camaro ss.
Oh.. my parents are rich by the way.. if my car didn't give that away.
===========
I pull up into the old run down gas station. The sign 'Martins' loosely hanged from the roof just waiting any day to fall.
