Twenty two

Looking at the ring Stefan had, he knew today would be perfect for him to ask Holly to marry him. He knew about the parade and what Holly has to wear and he knew exactly how to ask her. "When are you asking?" Damon asked.

"On the float." He tells him as Damon fixed his tie as Thomas walked in.

"Hello, little brother. I may have found a clue on Holly's mother." He says. "Holly may be 500 years old even though she wasn't born till now."

Damon and Stefan looked at him. "What do you mean? She's 16."

"I know, but think about it. When I came back, you told me how she was a mystery. Her interest in the supernatural and how her and Elena never looked alike. Now that we know she's a witch and something else, maybe her parents met long time ago."

Stefan didn't say anything as he grabbed a picture of him and Holly. He could tell that Holly was supernatural. Sighing, he grabbed the ring case and left. "What's wrong?" Thomas asked.

"I don't know. Stefan and Holly have been closed off."

Holly saw Caroline. "Remind me to kill you. This damn thing is tight."

Caroline turned and screamed. "You look amazing!" Bonnie laughed as she took a picture of the two together.

Stefan saw the woman he has been looking forward to see. She turned around to see Stefan causing her to smile. Caroline watched Bonnie take a picture of Holly running into Stefan's arms and smiled. Seeing the love on her best friend's face meant the world. "I wanna see." She says causing Bonnie to show the beautiful moment.

Bonnie showed the picture to Caroline who smiled. "Beautiful."

"It's them."

Stefan held Holly as they waved. Elena and Thomas watched as Stefan got on one knee causing them to stare in shock as Holly turned to look at him to see Stefan on one knee. "Stefan?"

"Holly Gilbert, from the moment I met you, I knew what I wanted in life. I want you forever." He tells her. "You are an angel to this town and I don't see a life without you. I love you, Holly and I would love it if you would marry me."

The blonde smiled. "Yes!" She says getting on her knees.

Everyone cheered as the two shared a kiss. Bonnie smiled as she took a picture, but she has to tell them that they need to leave and go home. She didn't deactivate the device and she wasn't going to harm them.

After the parade, Stefan stood waiting on Holly. She walked out of the room causing Stefan to smile. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her. She laughed as she pulled back. "You mean everything to me, Stefan." She tells him as he kissed her again. "Are we going home?"

"No. I want to spend the night with you."

She smiled as Stefan picked her up. Holly laughed till they heard a noise that caused Stefan to quickly get in the room and block it. Looking at the blonde, she had her ears covered and crying in pain. Stefan pulled Holly to him as they both dealt with the noise together. Once the noise ended, he looked at Holly to see her passed out. "Holly?" He says. "Baby?"

Taking her home, Stefan laid her on the bed. He knew he should have taken her to the hospital, but what if something happens. He had to keep her with him. Kissing her head, Stefan sighed. "I will not leave your side, Holly. It's us against the world." He tells her. "I promise."

Outside of the Salvatore house stood someone who knew she would be killed if something happened to the blonde. She has been running from the girl's father for years and knowing that the ritual was coming, the man will have his lost daughter back.
