Lyriah's POV

Beeping awoke me and I shot up, startled. A nurse in my peripheral vision jumped up. She had a kind face and spoke softly as she approached. "Hi there, I am Genie, it's a pleasure to know that you're awake." She smiled. She spoke as if she had a script to follow, but her eyes seemed genuine. I did my best to smile back. "You have been through a lot in the past few weeks, why don't we talk about it?" She didn't necessarily ask but stated the words as she lifted my back off the bed and raised it so I could sit up. She walked slowly to the foot of the bed and sat on a chair across from me. Her hair was done up in a beautiful bun, perfectly neat with no strays sticking out. "What do you remember?" She asked cautiously.

What couldn't I remember should be the question. "I lost control of my X-wing," I said softly. "I crashed, and I couldn't feel my legs," I laughed. "I still can't. I was taken hostage here, Kylo Ren said something about me being something that I am not, and it confused me. I was left in that room to die. Until that man came in, and he..." Suddenly my brain lost all thought. It hadn't hit yet, what had happened. "He..." I looked at the nurse, panic, pain, and sadness in my eyes. "Did he..."

"he did." She whispered. "But, there was no penetration, if that helps ease you even a little. I know this is hard to take in." My eyes batted away tears that felt like they would never rise to the surface. My breath became shallow and strained. "Take it easy." She said softly again, slowly taking my hand. I closed my eyes and all I could see was that man's face so I turned to the side and looked at the bright white wall.

"Why can't I feel my legs?" I asked through the tears.

The nurse, Genie, shook her head "I believe you fractured your spine. It would take a lot to fix, and it's very invasive. I don't think it's a good idea considering your-"

"I'll fix it." A metallic voice said from the doorway. My head whipped faster than ever to see none other than Ren standing there. "I need your legs to work." Questions zip through my mind faster than I could fly. Was he angry that I left? That someone took me out? All I knew was that I did not want to be in a room alone with him. My eyes glanced at the nurse and she smiled a little at me, but her head remained down. "She can stay," he said, sensing my uneasiness.

Genie came over lowered the bed down, and gently turned me onto my stomach. "I am going to lift your shirt." She said softly. I nodded into the pillow, closing my eyes tightly. My body trembled slightly from fear as I felt a gloved hand rest on my back. It felt almost exactly like the red-haired man. "It's not him," Genie assured me, holding my hand. "Now it might be painful."

It was.

My teeth gritted together as I felt bones in my back start to shift with loud cracks. But then, I could feel the bed against my legs. I could feel it again. I was tired. So, so tired. My eyelids flickered slightly and I zoned out into space as I could hear the nurse talking to Kylo Ren. "She needs a proper room," Genie said in a hushed voice. Kylo hummed in response. "She has taken too much. IF and only if you give her that you'll have a chance. Plus, someone needs to change her bandages." I hadn't even noticed the big bandage on my head.

"You're right..." He hummed before turning to look at me. "Get up," he commanded. I rolled my legs off the bed and attempted to stand but to no avail. Before falling, I was able to catch myself on the railings. I glanced at the nurse slightly before trying again. This time I held items in my path.

I walked towards Kylo, and he seized one of my wrists with his gloved hand, once again the rubber striking fear in me. I flinched and he loosened it, but not nearly enough for me to be comfortable. He walked down the hallway and I  was dragged along. My body trembling in fear. "They will come for me," I said to him and he stopped, turning around. "They will come for me," I said again, this time more fierce than the other.
