In order to make blood scary, it has to be realistic. You can't just make one big splatter. Blood is a liquid, that means it drips and spreads. If you want it to look spookier, you can draw jars and bottles of blood.
Extra tips:
1. Avoid drawing blood with an outline.
2. Blood is a deep red color, add a little bit of brown or smears if you want.
