Chapter 5: Reality bites me

We ended up staying with Spencer as she was too freaked out to stay alone. We then found out that Aria's parents had split out and it was all due to A-.
"A sent this letter to my mum." Aria said.
"You know it's not your fault right?" Emily asked.
"Yeah it's your dads mistake totally." I said.
"No it IS my fault." Aria said.
"You did not hook up with her and then ask your kid to cover for you." Spencer said.
"Ali said I should have told my mum right after it happened." Aria said.
"Ali?" Emily said.
"Alison knew?" I asked.
"Yeah she was with me." Aria said.
"So Ali saw this Meredith person?" Spencer asked.
"Meredith? Her name is Meredith ew that isn't even a cute girl name I'm seeing big pores and mousy roots." Hanna said and Spencer looked at me and I sighed.
"Hanna I think it's a little too soon to joke." I said.
"I'm sorry but if you're going to cheat you might as well do it with somebody who deep-conditions her hair occasionally." Hanna said.
"Hanna!" I said.
"Here put something in your mouth besides your foot." Spencer said and gave her something to eat and Hanna turned round to look at Aria.
"I'm sorry okay look all I'm saying is when our dad left laughing at sometimes helped." Hanna said.
"So did crying." I said.
"My father hasn't left guys I mean this happened over a year ago, you think he's going to leave?" Aria asked.
"Look whatever happens we're here for you." Emily said.
"Thank you guys for staying here I couldn't have been here alone." Spencer said.
"When's your family getting back?" Hanna asked.
"This afternoon." Spencer said.
"Weren't you going to clean off the mirror before they get here?" Aria asked.
"Want me to come with?" Emily asked and Spencer nodded.
"We should all go." I said.
"Yeah I agree." Aria said.
"Uh yeah you know what it doesn't take 5 of us to clean a mirror so why don't you 4 go and I'll just wait here." Hanna said.
"Fine you stay down here alone." I said.
"But make sure you lock the door." Spencer said.
"Great you spray and I'll wipe." Hanna said as we started going up the stairs but then my phone rung and the others looked at me.
"Well the creatures back." I said.
"We should never have unblocked our phones." Hanna said.
I then read the message with others.

There was then an attachment.
"Open the attachment." Emily said and I did that and when we watched it I saw that it was us from last night.
"That's us!" Aria said.
"Was that shot from inside your closet?" I asked as we looked up the stairs.
"A was watching us." Spencer said as we cautiously made our way up to Spencer's room. We went towards her closet and Spencer opened it and then something fell out which caused me to jump and the girls to scream. I then saw a lipstick.
"Guys check it out." I said as I picked it up to show them. I then put it on my hand and walked over to the mirror and it matched and I looked at the girls who were just as creeped out as me.

The next day:
I met up with Mike before school. He just hugged me without saying a word.
"Are you okay?" I asked rubbing his back.
"My parents are acting weird and I know something is wrong but they won't tell me anything." Mike said and I sighed. I knew why but it wasn't my place to say anything.
"What do you mean weird?" I asked.
"They're just this vibe, this vibe that they're not in love anymore." Mike said.
"I'm sure that isn't true, look how about tomorrow night we go on a date just the two of us?" I asked and he nodded.
"Sure." he said and we kissed.
"Um Ni?" Aria asked.
"Yeah I'm coming I'll see you later okay?" I asked.
"Yeah." he said.
"And don't worry about it too much." I said and he just sighed before walking away.
"What was that about?" Aria asked.
"Your brother wants to know what's going on with your parents." I said.
"Did you tell him?" she asked.
"No I couldn't, I hate lying to him Aria, so you or your parents need to tell him before I lose him." I said as we walked to the others. We were then discussing who A might be. Aria suggested Jenna.
"You cannot seriously think that a blind girl broke into my house, that would take a lot more than a talking GPS." Spencer said.
"Well I didn't say that Jenna was alone." Aria said.
"Let's not go to the Toby place okay?" Emily said.
"Why not? You guys think her guide dog left behind his lipstick?" Aria asked.
"Yeah do you want to ask what your lab partner was doing last night." I asked.
"Yeah you know maybe he took a break from sitting on his porch pulling the heads off of squirrels." Spencer said.
"Spencer! Sorry ladies I didn't mean to interrupt but I hope you're as proud of your friend as I am congratulations my instincts were right this just makes it official." Sheldrake said as he came over to us and handed Spencer an envelope and walked away. Spencer then put it away in her locker quickly.
"What's that about?" Aria asked.
"An essay contest." Spencer said.
"Wait did you win it aren't you at least going to open the envelope?" Emily asked.
"Why should she? She wins an award for waking up." Hanna said as the bell rang and we went to class.
