Lunar Night

--Chapter Two--

   She went down and grabbed her jacket. Her mom came from the kitchen, "Honey, why are you going outside at this hour?", "Uh, I wanted to go for a night walk. The moon is really beautiful right now.". Nome's mom looked outside the kitchen window. It was a beautiful moon. "Hm.. we could go together-", "Mom! The moon Will be gone when you're ready! Plus, I'm already 14 years old, and I can do Judo. So you don't have to worry Mom..", her mom went silent. "Fine, bring your phone just in case of an emergency. OK?", "Sure Mom!". Nome picked up her phone and went out. The temperature was really cold. It was colder than Nome thought. She didn't mind though, the night walk with that beautiful moon in the sky was more than worth the cold.

She passed through some parks and old schools. It was peaceful with the occasional car or motorcycle passing by. It was a relatively small town where Nome lived.

She decided to sit on a bench in a park and relax. This is a perfect opportunity to let go of all of the stress that has been building up for weeks, even months. Nome looked up to the moon, it had started to snow again but the moon was still visible and bright. Nome pulled out her phone, It is 22:09 right now. "Welp, I guess it's time to head home again. Nome stood up and walked home.

She was walking peacefully when the sound of a stick breaking in half caught her off guard. She immediately turned around to see what caused the noise. She saw a shadow figure standing roughly 10 meters away from her. Startled by this she kept on walking, she assumed the shadowy figure was just another pedestrian walking in the park. The figure followed Nome for a decent amount of time. Annoyed and slightly disturbed by this, she decided to face the figure. "Uhm, sir can you please stop following me?", She gets no response. "Sir?", the figure walked closer. "Don't go any closer, sir!". The figure was now about 6 meters away from her. Nome turned around and walked slightly faster. The figure followed her with matching speed.

Nome grabbed her phone and started calling her Mom. "C'mon... pick up Mom..". The figure saw that Nome was calling somebody and rushed her immediately. He tackled her on the floor, the phone flew from her hands. "Get off me!", Nome grunted. Meanwhile, Nome's Mom answered the call, she could hear some faint grunting noises. "Honey? Are you alright?". Nome struggled to fend off the man's grasp on her.

The man knocked out Nome before taking her phone and ending the call. Her Mom was scared and called the police immediately. After some time the police arrived at the location and started to search for Nome, with no luck. It seemed that Nome had seemingly disappeared into thin air.
