They returned to the village and tied her hands and legs together, preventing her from escaping. "What do you freaks want!?", "It's simple, we want your devotion to the moon.", "What's with you guys so obsessed with the Moon??". The Moon followers stayed quiet. After some time, an older-looking guy walked towards Nome. "You want to know why we worship the moon?", Nome nodded. "Well you see, there was this ancient civilization that also followed the light of the moon. They were the most advanced and intelligent people. Their lands were prosperous and beautiful.". The thing that this elderly man described her was familiar. Did Nome read this somewhere? Nome thought hard. And as if a lightbulb inside her head turned on she puts the pieces together. The ancient civilizations they described are the same as the ones in her book 'Lunar'. Could it be?

"Wait, that one civilization mentioned in the book 'Lunar'?", before she gets an answer a hot burning piece of metal was pressed down on her back. "AAAH!!", Nome screamed in pain. The Moon followers branded her back with a symbol of the Moon. Nome was too weak to fight back. The pain in her back was unbearable.

The Moon followers laid her on the ground. The elderly man starts to perform some sort of spell. But before he could finish, Nome gathered all her energy left to stand up and throw herself at the elderly man. Nome pushed him off the ledge of the cliff resulting in his death. Before she could collect herself the Moon followers rushed her. Seeing no other choice she jumped off the cliff.

The Moon followers watched as Nome fell downwards to the ocean floor. They stood in shock and confusion. But soon, everybody left the scene and gathered in the middle of the village to discuss the situation.
