Stay Inside
Saltwater dragons, nest on the beach. Violet eggs resting underneath green skin. Creatures, unlike the dragons who can speak. Brooding mothers stare at us as food, soft and crunchy. Their wings extended. Today is not a good day for swimming.
Wind
The top of the lighthouse inside us glows. It's an evening for storms. The dream-keeper must be partially mad inside, surrounded by mercury and loneliness. Her husband's mind went first. We must save her from the wind inside our flesh.
Portal
I fall through a portal to the other side of nightmares. Sand, broken glass, and pebbles cut my feet. But My fingers grasp my shoulder and I grow feathered wings. Sometimes there are gifts in the darkness.
