Golden Tinsel
Near where the river meets the sea.
My bones crack as I stretch to reach the cave. We find the chest left for us. Golden dreams wait.
Ready to be shared. Our hands are covered in scars, but we made it.
There is enough sparkle for all who journey with each other. We ran past dragons and found our songs.
We didn't expect golden tinsel to fall upon us; while we were standing still.
It rarely happens.
We didn't expect to mock our way to success.
The others who tried to make it here alone, mocking us, fell into pits.
Because of their cruelty, there was no one to free them. The sad creatures lost and the treasure will vanish by the time they reach the cave.
