"I intrigue him? How could I intrigue him? He's way ahead of me in life! And why would I be intriguing him? What did he even mean by the word 'intrigue'? There are so many trying to get on top of him but I'm the one who intrigues him? How? Why?"

All these thoughts fogged up Jennie's mind at 12 p.m, when she was supposed to be sleeping. Jennie couldn't get Taehyung and his words out of her head. It was like they built a house in her brain and refused to leave.

This was so annoying!

×The Next Day At Work×

Jennie sat at her desk, not being able to pay attention to a single word or work. And yes, the reason was last night... what he said last night to be precise. Jennie stared at her laptop screen while chewing the tip of a pen when her thoughts were interrupted by a few female whispers. She could recognise these whispers anywhere... gossip.

"Hey, do you know it's the CEO's birthday next week?" Jennie's eyes widened as she heard this. His birthday was next week? She then recalled her conversation with him at his place the other day, his birthday was on 30th December.

Jennie quickly grabbed her phone to check the date. '24th December' was written bold on the centre of the screen, meaning only 6 days left to his birthday. After what he did for her last night, Jennie thought she should gift him something. But what could she possibly gift a man as filthy rich as him? He has literally everything one could ask for!

"I wonder what his girlfriend will give him!" One girl whispered and started giggling. "How do you know he even had a girlfriend?" Another girl argued. "Well, he never lets any other woman get close to her, don't you think that means something?" "What could it possibly mean!?" "Duh, that he's a loyal boyfriend"

Jennie's lips formed a frown as she heard the girls. The thought of Taehyung having a girlfriend made her heart ache, she didn't know why though. "I should've asked him if he had a girlfriend that day" Jennie thought but soon realised that may have been an inappropriate question to ask her boss.

Jennie sighed by fortunately her frown was uplifted by Chanyeol who came laughing to her after he finished his work. "You done?" He asked her eagerly "No, not even started" Jennie answered with a sulk.

"Hey Chanyeol, do think the CEO has a girlfriend?" Jennie asked this very un-casual question in an extremely casual tone which got Chanyeol suspicious. "No one knows. Why? Do you have a crush on him?" He asked in a teasing tone with a smirk.

A blush formed on Jennie's face before she laughed and swung her hands in the air ironically, which seemed very much like an act to Chanyeol. He raised an eyebrow as he watched her. "Ha! Nope! Why would I have a crush on my own boss" Jennie said in a laugh which seemed kind of nervous and tense.

"Really? Your blush tells me otherwise" Chanyeol said with a wide smile noticing Jennie's cherry red cheeks. "What blush? Of course I don't like him. He's rude and arrogant and-" "-and handsome" Chanyeol cut her off before she could add another 'bad' quality.

"So what? He's not nice" Jennie added "how do you know?" Chanyeol asked raising an eyebrow. "How do you know?" Jennie counter-questioned emphasizing on 'you'. "Well, I don't, I don't know him but you don't either, so how do you know?" Chanyeol repeated his question, emphasizing on 'you'.

"I don't know but that's not the point, I don't like him" Jennie said like baby trying to convince everyone that he/she is an adult. Chanyeol laughed at Jennie's childish behaviour before proceeding to help her with her work.

"Come in" Taehyung said coldly as he heard someone knock on his cabin door. "Sir, your birthday is in a week" Lee said as he walked in and obediently stood infront on Taehyung. "So?" Taehyung asked in a uninterested tone. "Would you like me to arrange something? A party maybe? A ball?" Lee said with a bright face, hoping to get a positive answer.

"Don't waste my time Lee" Taehyung said in the same tone. Why does Lee even expect something new from him? Taehyung never celebrated his birthday, he thought it was a waste of time. Everyone is born and everyone dies at a point if time, what's the point in celebrating your birthday? It's not anything special anyways.

Lee sighed as he walked away, disappointed but expected. As he left, Taehyung swung his head back "What is she doing right now?" he thought to himself and a smiled secretly formed on his face.

Taehyung walked outside his cabin and watched Jennie from his inside balcony. He watched as she suddenly stood up, grabbed a bunch of files and started heading to the elevator.

Taehyung didn't know what but something came up on him, an urge to run after her. He ran to the elevator and as it opened, he was blessed with her beautiful face looking right at him in the eye.

"Fuck!" Jennie thought as she saw Taehyung in the elevator. "Good morning Ms. Kim" she smiled nervously and quietly upon his greeting. "Good morning sir" she said as she walked inside the elevator and pressed the 4th floor. She maintained a distance from him in the elevator and the way she squeezed her file in between her chest told him she was nervous.

He looked at her from top to bottom, admiring her beautiful physique, hoping she wouldn't catch him. "Is he checking me out?" Jennie thought as she furrowed her eyebrows upon seeing her boss clearly checking her out from top to bottom.

A smirk formed on his lips. He was turned on. If 'perfect' could be a body, it would be hers. Jennie has a beautiful hourglass figure with curved hugging her thin physique, adding a dimension to her figure. He liked it.

As he looked at her from top to bottom, and then again from bottom to top, he noticed the way she stared at him with an offended look. He quickly realised what he was doing and slightly coughed to change the atmosphere.

"Fuck, am I a creep now?" He thought to himself on the realisation of checking her out. "Jennie Kim... what are you doing to me? My first wet dream, first person I can't stop thinking about, first girl I invited to my house, first girl I stood up for and the first person I checked out... You're all of them" he thought as he sighed in embarrassment of being caught by her.

And suddenly in the midst of their thoughts... the elevator stopped.
