"Thankyou for the ride" Jennie said as she got off Taehyung's car. "Your welcome." he said sternly with a slight smile before taking off. Jennie sighed as she waved him bye... something was cooking in her heart, and admit it or not, she had begun to realise it.

×30th December×

Jennie woke up with a smile on her face. It was her boss' birthday today! Most people wouldn't care, but she did, she cared for him. Jennie jumped out of the bed and got ready to go to the office. She still didn't understand why he wanted to work on his birthday, but he has his own ways.

She entered the office sharp at 5:30 in the morning, one and a half hours before the starting time, but this time it wasn't on accident... she had a plan. Without wasting time, she instantly started decorating the company. It was huge so she obviously couldn't do it herself. With the help of the guards and a few more colleagues who came in early, she finished at 6:45.

Everyone was told to come 10-15 minutes before time to give Taehyung a surprise. Soon, everyone had entered the company. They all his themselves in various places and waited for the CEO. Usually, he comes sharp at 7.

T A E H Y U N G 'S P O V:

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. As what day it was today hit me, I ignored the thought and walked over to the bathroom. Yes, it's my birthday, so what? Everyone has birthdays. Why to celebrate an unnecessary addition to the world's population?

Of course, I'm not unnecessary though. These people wouldn't have been living suitable lives if it weren't for my company and our hard work.

I started a cold shower as the thought of Jennie hit my head. She was driving me out of my sanity. Whatever she did, whatever she said made me go back home just to be greeted by cold waters falling on my head as a result to my hardness she arouses.

I sighed as I thought about her. Was she even going to leave my head and my thoughts... my heart? Heart? That's nonsense! No one has ever entered my heart and I'm keeping it that way.

As I entered the company, everything was quiet, it seemed odd. At that moment when I was lost in confusion, a loud "Surprise!" attacked my ears. God! My ears are going to bleed at this point.

My disappointment soon disappeared as I saw her, Jennie, laughing and clapping enthusiastically while jumping. As sexy as she could get, she was adorable too.

A smile crept on my face as I saw her. That smile soon faded once I realised that she wasn't the only one in the room. I walked towards the elevator and got in without saying a word.

"You think he liked it?" Jennie said while panting because of all the jumping and clapping, not to mention screaming. "Yeah, I saw his smile." Chanyeol said, panting along with Jennie. "But you know what? He was looking right at you while smiling" Chanyeol said facing Jennie with a smirk on his face. "What!? No!" Jennie scoffed, trying to ignore the fact that she saw him too... smiling at her with a soft and comforting look, a look he doesn't always put in his face.

"Oh yes he did!" Chanyeol said wiggling his eyebrows and smirking as Jennie rolled her eyes. She sighed as she walked over to the café to get a cup of coffee. That's when she recieved a call. 'Mr. Kim' was written on the screen.

Jennie took a deep breath, she could feel her heart racing, she just didn't know why. She answered the call... "Hello?" "Come to my cabin" "What?" "My cabin. Now."

He abruptly hung up the call. Jennie was a bit scared as she thought he sounded angry, but then again, he always sounds angry. She walked to the elevator and into his floor. She gently knocked the door and recieved a quick answer. She walked in with her hands behind her like a good girl, it turned him on.

She looked so timid and fragile, like he could ounce on her and eat her any second. If we're gonna be honest, he wanted to.
"So it was your idea?" he said casually but it didn't sound so casual fir some reason. "Um... You mean the surprise thing. We all planned it." Jennie answered.

Taehyung half smiled as he turned the laptop kept on his desk and showed her the CCTV footage of her decorating the office. Jennie's eyes widened and cheeks turned into a colour of pink. Taehyung stood up and slowly walked towards Jennie.

She was scared. She thought he would scold her for doing all of this because he already told her that he didn't want his birthday celebrated. But instead, he walked towards her until she hit a wall.

He cupped her cheeks turning them from pink to a bright shade of red. "Thankyou" he whispered to her. Jennie smiled and looked into his eyes deeply. His eyes which weren't dark like people said, which weren't cold like people said. He wasn't a God like people said, he was just human. A human being with emotions and and feelings like everyone. A human being with likes and dislikes, who gets hurt and happy.

He was just like her, broken.

At that moment, Jennie realised that...

she had fallen in love with Kim Taehyung.
