The sound of a middle-aged man yelling woke a brunette from her slumber and separating her from her dream.

"Ah.. it's Friday... 3...2...1"

On point of the countdown, a loud screeching object got smashed on the cold living room floor with another shattering noises and screams of anger and frustrations

"IT'S BEEN 45 YEARS SINCE I MARRIED YOU AND NEVER HAVE YOU HELPED ME IN THE KITCHEN ONCE!"

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! I WAS JUST ASKING FOR A OMELETTE IS IT SO HARD FOR YOU TO MAKE???"

As the fight went on, suddenly someone twisted the doorknob and quickly rushed in before slamming the door shut as if they got chased

"Aye ya up? sure ya don't mind me chillin' here aight?"

Asher. Y/N's little brother stood in the middle of the room with earbuds attached in each of his ears and hands in the two-way pocket of his hoodie

Both siblings stared at each other for a few seconds, and finally, the sister nodded as she sat up and stretched

After some time, the house finally calmed down.

"Are they fighting over an egg or something?"

Asher plopped on the bed and pulled his phone out, probably changing the song he's listening to

"Dunno"

That small response made Y/N chuckle and playfully throw a pillow at him

"It's always the weirdest shit before they gone to work,"

The boy yelled in surprise at the impact and looked at his sister with mouth ajar and eyes wide open

"Girl, you could've killed me! I have an appointment on Saturday."

Asher was battling with a congenital heart disease, a condition that affected his heart since birth.

He often complained of shortness of breath, fatigue, and chest tightness, symptoms that were indicative of his heart condition. It was difficult for him to keep up with his friends during physical activities, as his heart was not able to pump blood quickly enough to sustain his body.

It took a toll on his daily life, leaving him feeling winded and exhausted but as long his sister, his friend and someone he always looked up to even when he never show it, Y/N will always make him forget that he's different from the rest.

"You might die sooner or later, but remember, we will always support you even in our hardest time. We love you, Asher."

A note that she slid under his door when he isolated himself in his room and refused to eat after knowing that he won't live long due to the disease he's born with.

He sticked the lone note on his mirror so he could read it every time he got himself ready for the day.

Asher's parents had faced a difficult decision when they learned of his congenital heart disease and the potential for a short lifespan.

Many couples in their position might have chosen to terminate the pregnancy rather than raise a child with special needs. However, they chose to keep him and raise him with all their love and care despite the challenges that come after.

They believed that every life is precious and worthy of love, including their son with his imperfect heart.

Y/N hummed and switched positions as she lay beside her brother, who's scrolling through his feed

"Your fyp is boring as hell,"

"And yours is nothing but a bulky man with baby face,"

Another pillow landed on the boy's back, making him laugh and using his hand to block the attack

"Y/N.. hahah"

"What else did you see? Eeeeeee!"

Laughters of the two siblings filled the room. Asher grabbed another pillow and stood on bed in a mighty pose while raising the pillow over his head with a big grin and eyes sparkled with happiness and mischief

"You did not just start a... PILLOW FIGHT!!!!"
