"Clary. Clary, come on. We gotta go." Simon says trying to convince Clary to leave with him.

"Simon, I think Jace and Nadia can help us." Clary replied.

"What?" Simon asked.

"Come on." Clary said grabbing her friends hand.

"How do we know this Mick Jagger-looking guy and his girlfriend are even gonna try-" Simon started. Nadia grimaced at how Simon called her Jaces girlfriend.

"Mundane, we do not have the time." Jace snapped.

"Come on, Simon. Let's go." Clary said as they all walked into the institute. Simon panics as Jace draws a rune on his hand.

"I know. Trust me." Clary said to her mundane friend.

"He's, like, burning himself." Simon stated. Then Jace grabs Simons hand.

"Buddy, what's going on, man? I'm not your type, man. I don't even..." Simon freaked out making Nadia chuckle. Suddenly Simon is able to see the institute.

"Where are we? What the hell? Clary, is there a war going on that I don't know about?" Simon asks.

"There is now." Nadia responds.

"I think my mother's at the center of it." Clary informed,

"You coming?" Jace asks Simon.

"Yeah. What is this place? There's a lot of gear in here. What'd they do, rob a tech shop? So this cold-blooded killer is gonna help us?" Simon questioned.

"She's not a killer and neither is he. Their protecting us." Clary defended.

"Specifically, you. It's sort of our thing." Jace added.

"If I hadn't killed that circle member, you and Clary would be dead as a doorknob right about now." Nadia joked.

"Your thing? You guys have a thing?" Simon asks his friend.

"He means a Shadowhunter thing. That's what they do, protecting humans from demons." Clary replies.

"Demons, right. That makes perfect sense, 'cause there are demons running all around New York." Simon says freaked out.

"That is the first correct thing you've said all day." Jace responded, checking things on the monitor, revealing the police man checking things out.
