Third Person POV

Things continued like this for months. Luffy would wake up screaming his brothers name, or crying. Law would use Room to bring them into a better environment and he would comfort him. Often kissing him after, or throughout the comforting. Eventually, Law started sleeping with Luffy. This made the nightmares occur less frequently, but they were still present. For half a year.
Half a year.
This continued. Their relationship got more serious, and they'd managed to sneak away and have some... alone time ;) throughout those months. Law helped Luffy properly deal with his grief, and with the help of his friends.
Luffy stopped seeing Ace in his dreams. There was one last time, he saw his brother one last time.

Luffy's POV

"Ace?
Ace where are you?"
"Hey, little bro." There he was. My big brother. He was smiling at me, and he ruffled my hair.
"You don't need me anymore" my eyes widened, and I began to yell
"What are you saying? You're my big brother I'll always need you."
"You have Trafalgar now. You have your crew. You have people everywhere. You don't need to worry about me anymore, we'll be reunited one day. Wait until then, okay?"
Third Person POV

and so, Luffy began recovering. It wasn't easy. But eventually he did it. And in that time, he had located Trafalgar's crew.
It was time to say goodbye.

Bepo's POV

"CAPTAIN" I was crying as I ran towards him and wrapped him in a bear hug. He hugged me back, tightly and smiled.
"It's been a while, Bepo" I let go of him and realized something seemed different about him. Behind him I realized a racoon? Hiding behind his leg, along with a long-nosed boy and Straw Hat himself was holding one of Captain's hands. This reminded me of almost three years ago, when I found my captain holding Straw Hats hand all those years ago.
"You seem... different." I admitted. And I realized Luffy was crying now. "What's with him?" I asked.
"My boyfriends a bit upset about me leaving the Sunny" he smiled as he said this, but I was completely shocked.
"Oh, your boyfriend. Wait, YOUR BOYFRIEND???" I was practically jumping out of my own fur, and my captain smiled at me before he held up his index finger indicating that I should be quiet
"TRAFFY" Luffy wailed. He was now hugging my captain and crying into his chest, gasping for air between words. "Why do you have to leave? You and your crew should just join mine. We'd love to have you" Straw Hat whined.
"Because, I'm the captain of my crew, and you're the captain of yours." Law said this like it was obvious, and it was. But Luffy wasn't having it.
"But Traffy..." Law smiled at him, and I'd never seen him smile like that.
A blonde man with curly eyebrows stepped out and handed Captain a bag filled to exploding. "Luffy wanted to make sure I packed you enough food, don't blame me." He said smiling, "It was fun having you around, man." The blonde boy (who I assumed to be black-leg sanji) shook Law's hand, and the goodbyes continued like this until the last four.
"I CANT BELIEVE YOU'RE LEAVING," a cyborg wailed "SO NOT SUPER."
"Please don't go Trafalgar, I still have so much to learn from you!" A racoon cried out, hugging Captains leg.
"This goodbye is breaking my heart... or it would, if I had a heart... yohohoho.." a skeleton?? choked out sadly.
And finally, Straw Hat Luffy who was apparently my captains boyfriend, stood on his tippy-toes to kiss him goodbye. It was a long kiss, and I watched as my thought to be heartless captain placed his hands lightly on Luffy's back, pulling him further into the kiss. Everybody who was watching seemed embarrassed but happy at the interaction, and many of the Straw Hats began talking to others in my crew.
"Okay," Luffy said finally, "you need to call. At least twice a month. And remember we still have our alliance, so if you're planning on doing something cool don't leave us out of it!!! And-" Luffy was still ranting, so Trafalgar shut him up with a kiss.
"I understand. Goodbye, Straw Hat."
"Bye, Traffy." Luffy said, sadly. Nonetheless, he still smiled at my captain.
"BYE TRAFFY!!!" The rest of the Straw Hats called out from their ship.
and it was a bittersweet ending, that was sure to continue someday.
