The order meeting felt like a hazy dream, like it was quite unreal. Diana always read the Daily Prophet, but the things that were said that night at the order made Diana realize just how worse everything actually was in the Wizarding world.

Rumors of the Dark Lord reaching out to Dark creatures. Talk of unimaginable dark magic and tortures. Moles and spies in the Ministry of Magic. Many Muggle deaths that weren't even mentioned in the Daily Prophet.

It all made Diana shiver in fear. But none of these were as surprising as how the people in that room were so simply ready to sacrifice their lives. It was shocking how fearless they had become.

Diana even flinched the first few times they actually spoke Voldemort's name.

Throughout the meeting, Diana kept feeling Remus's glance on her on many occasions, trying to see how she was doing. A part of him expected to look at her and see the look of regret on her face.

But Diana didn't seem regretful at all. In fact, for the first time in her life, as she looked around the room, she felt like she was finally part of something bigger than herself. And somehow, by some miracle, she felt safe. Maybe it was all the familiar faces surrounding her, maybe it was because she was seeing her best friend after so long, or maybe it was because of Remus's presence; of that familiar scent of chocolate, or the way he held her hand other the table, giving it a comforting squeeze from time to time.

Dumbledore told Diana that there was no need for her to go on any missions just yet, though he insisted that her and Remus should move out of the Lupin's house, because now the chances of one of them being tracked to that house had doubled and that could put Lyall and Hope in a more dangerous situation.

By tomorrow morning, Remus and Diana had already moved out of the Lupin's house. Remus hated this idea, because his mother felt rather sick and he didn't want to leave her and go, but it seemed like they had no other choice.

"My dad won't be able to look after her. He'll be at the Ministry all day," Remus sighed, placing the last box inside their new home.

It was a safe house Dumbledore had prepared for them in the middle of the woods, as to make Remus's transformation easier. It was agreed that once a month, upon the full moon, Diana would leave that day and go to the Potters' place in Godric's Hollow and stay with Lily and James.

James and Lily had gotten married over the past summer. As much as Diana had grown to love them, she wasn't there on their wedding day, seeing as she had been a pretty occupied with her own wedding with Evan Rosier.

Even thinking about it sent shivers down her spine. She couldn't imagine what her life would've been like with that cruel man.

For one, instead of living inside a crooked house in the middle of woods, she would've been living in a manor, with servant elves attending to their house and dinners all day long. She would be obligated to wear fancy gowns and throw fancy parties for pureblood witches and wizards. She would be forced to bear him pureblooded children.

She was now much happier here, where she was free to live and free to love, and there was a tuck of hope in her heart that after this war was over, everything would get better.

"Everything would get better once this is all over," said Remus, as if reading Diana's thoughts. He looked at her with hopeless, miserable eyes. "Wouldn't it?"

Diana gave him a sad smile. "Yes. It would." She then took out her wand, giving him a teasing grin. "How about we give this place a makeover?"

Remus returned a sweet smile, though his eyes looked more tired than usual. "Let's go for it."
