Flashbacks:

Meerab and Hanan used to live in Islamabad. Hanan was two years older than Meerab. Their relationship witnessed many ups and downs over the 8 years they were together, but they always ended up staying together. Meerab loved Hanan deeply, and Hanan was possessive of Meerab and couldn't stand seeing her with anyone else.

They were also family friends and frequently visited each other's homes. Hanan was also a good friend of Meerab's brother, Azlan, but their families were unaware of their relationship.

Hanan always told Meerab that even if they were to separate, they would always remain friends forever. However, Meerab wanted more from their relationship and wished for marriage, but she never pressured Hanan about it. She wanted to see Hanan happy and allowed him to lead his life according to his own wishes. She respected Hanan's preferences and avoided doing things he didn't like.

However, Meerab didn't receive the love she deserved in the relationship. She did many things for Hanan, but he was as indifferent as he was possessive. They would often fight but never broke up.

Meerab was a creative girl, passionate about painting, sketching, digital art, and dress designing. She spent her days pursuing these hobbies, and Hanan admired her creativity.

Hanan got admission to pursue a master's degree in business at the university. Meerab always encouraged him, supported him, and helped him with his assignments. Whenever Hanan needed help, he turned to Meerab. But Meerab didn't always find Hanan available when she needed him. When she complained, Hanan would get angry and tell her that he didn't have time for her trivial matters, as he had a thousand other things to deal with. Meerab would feel hurt but continued to endure it because she loved him.

The truth was that Hanan never fully understood Meerab's feelings, while Meerab always understood him. Hanan would get angry whenever Meerab talked to other guys. He wanted Meerab to share everything with him and not keep any secrets, although he himself didn't meet those expectations. Meerab shared everything with him.

One day, Meerab decided that she wanted to become a fashion designer and pursue a degree in fashion designing. She shared this decision with her parents and her brother, and they supported her. Later, she talked to Hanan about it.

On a call conversation:

"Hanan, I want to talk to you about something," Meerab said.

"Yes, Meerab, go ahead," Hanan replied.
"Hanan, you know how interested I am in designing. I am thinking of continuing my studies in this field and pursuing a degree in fashion design," Meerab said.

"That's great, Meerab. Go ahead and do it," Hanan said.

"Yes, Hanan, the admissions are open, so I will apply for it," Meerab said.

"Good. Have you thought about which university you want to apply to?" Hanan asked.

"Hanan, I am thinking of applying to universities in Lahore. There are excellent fashion designing universities there," Meerab said.

"Why Lahore, Meerab? There are good universities in Islamabad, too. Are you thinking of moving to Lahore?" Hanan asked.

"Hanan, there are good universities here too, but there are more opportunities to grow in Lahore. There are better prospects for the future," Meerab explained.

Meerab and Hanan discussed this, and though Hanan was not entirely comfortable with Meerab moving to Lahore, he didn't say anything.

A month later, Meerab applied for admission, got accepted, and was overjoyed. Hanan was happy for her, but deep down, he felt uneasy about her leaving.
