Anya woke up, her big fluffy dog Bond by her side. The white doggie placed his front paws onto her bed, lapping gently at her face and nudging the pink haired girl out of her slumber.
She groaned, tossing and turning in her bed and snuggling close to her stuffed penguin. Bond barked lightly into Anya's ear, still nudging her gently.
Loid opened the door, and Bond immediately snapped his head around happily and prodded over to the blonde man."Good morning, Bond." Loid said, giving a small head pat to the dog. Anya rolled over in the bed, glaring daggers at her father.
"And good morning to you, too Anya." Loid chuckled. "Breakfast is ready." Anya grumbled and nodded her head.
Loid smiled at the girl and shut the door, letting her get up on her own. He figured from experience that he needed to let his teenage daughter get up on her own accord.
Anya chuckled at that. She rubbed her eyes and blinked them open again. Bond was now by her bedside, his black eyes looking into hers gently and with love."RUUFF" Bond spoke. Anya nodded. "Yeah, yeah. I know, Bond." She chuckled and moved the thick bed sheets off herself, inching her body closer to the edge of the bed and slipping to the floor.
Sleepiness washed over her as she sat on the floor, her giant stuffed penguin clutched in her hands and Bond resting his head onto her lap.
Loid opened the door again, watching as his daughter woke up on the floor. He chuckled before speaking again. "Anya, your breakfast is going to be cold. I made pancakes with the peanut m&m's you like."
At this, Anya instantly shot up and sprinted out the door. She excitedly turned the corner, her face lighting up as the peanut m&m pancakes came into her vision.
In her mind, they looked fluffy, warm, inviting. The steam rose off of them gently and the smell wafted through the house. Yor stood in the kitchen, her hands under the running tap water and a scrubie in her grasp.
She was cleaning the dishes Loid had used to cook, scraping off the dried batter and letting the suds remove the grease off the pans from last nights dinner.Anya found her spot at the table, snatching her fork and greedily taking three out of the however many pancakes that were there. Numbers weren't really her thing.
School in general wasn't her thing. But Operation Strix needed her there. So she always did her best, even though she'd barley pass anything.
Loid wasn't always the happiest with her, but with how much progress she made since starting at Eden college, she'd say she's doing good.Anya chomped away at the pancakes, shoving her mouth full and swallowing the delicious food. The telephone rang, and Anya snapped her head up. "I got it!" Yor and Loid exchanged glances, but let Anya get the phone anyway.
She grabbed the phone, placing the contraption to her ear. "Forger residence, Anya speaking!""Anya! It's me, Becky!"
"Becky!" Anya's best friend. Loid wondered why Becky was calling. It was the second day of summer. Then again, the girls were out ever other day.
"Anya I have some exciting news to tell you!!"
"Oh my gosh yes!! What is it!?"
"Ok so first things first, you've heard of Riverbed Camp, right?" The name sounded familiar to Anya.
"It's the one like right across the stream from the Spyman Castle, right?" Loid snapped his head up, curious about this conversation and why it would have the castle be brought up. What were these girls plotting? Anya better decide carefully otherwise operation strix is at stake.
Anya looked to her father, his words echoing in her mind. Papas right. World peace is what we're going for."Yeah! The school is sponsoring the camp this year and everyone is going!!"
"What!!?"
What!?
What???
Anya looked to her parents excitedly. Loid wore a grin expression, his thoughts running wild about all the things he read about camps. They were unsanitary, horrible for children depending on the counselors. But if Eden College was sponsoring it, then it would be a high elegance and perfection.
Yor looked ecstatic. A summer camp would be a good way for Anya to spend her two months of no school. She'd be with people she knows well, and that would be beneficial so she could execute her assassin job without any problems.
Anya looked between the two of them, and wanted to facepalm. Both of them were ridiculous. She turned her attention back to the phone and tried to catch up on what Becky was saying."...Yeah and it's going to be so cool. Anya, you have to come!! I think Damien is going~..." Becky snickered through the phone, and Anya rolled her eyes.
"Becky, I don't like Damien. He's mean and I'm pretty sure he also doesn't like me." Becky just giggled. "Keep telling yourself that."
Anya just chuckled and looked to Yor and Loid. They were still lost in their thoughts, and it was starting to crowd Anya's own head. She placed her palm to her forehead, a wave of nausea sounding at her head."Whatever. I'll ask mama and papa about it. I'll call you back about it later ok?"
"Ok sounds good!! Bye Anya!"
"Bye Becky!" The phone line went slack, and Anya placed the phone back onto the phone box. She sighed before turning to walk back to her seat. This headache isn't bad, but it still hurts.
Too many thoughts circulating the room and all of them for Anya to hear and be overwhelmed by. Loid turned to Anya, looking slightly worried for her. "Anya, are you ok?"
Anya nodded her head. "Just hungry." She sat down in front of her pancakes, and looked at them curiously. One of them was missing..."Bond.." She looked down to her dog, who had happily snatched up one of her pancakes while she was at the phone. "Gimme back my pancake."
The dog shook his head and began trotting down around the house. "Bond! That's mine!" Anya looked desperate to get her pancake back, following the white dog around the house in failed attempts for her food back.
Loid and Yor watched, not sure what to do. "No running in the house!" Loid reminded the both of them. Bond slowed down, but Anya slipped on the hardwood floor, tumbling into the wall and landing next to her dog.Anya grumbled and narrowed her eyes at Bond. Loid and Yor chuckled together, watching Anya sit up with her arms crossed.
Loid helped her up and placed new pancakes onto her plate. Anya shuffled across the floor and sat down at the table, picking at her pancakes before bringing up her phone call with Becky."Eden college is sponsoring the Riverbed Camp this summer. Becky is gonna go." Yor nodded her head and looked to Loid. Anya was his daughter, so it was his final decision if she went or not.
Anya listened into Loid's thoughts, all of them cramming around both of their heads. Anya chomped on her pancakes through gritted teeth.
It would be beneficial if Anya went. She'd strengthen her friendships with her classmates, and thats Desmond boy might actually become friends with her, if he can get past his egotistic tendencies.
Anya wanted to laugh out loud. Loid wasn't wrong. Damien was such a jerk. She hadn't even done anything to him since they were 6, and yet he made it his mission to be annoying to her and make her life miserable.
10 miserable years of Damien. And each summer she was relieved of him. But not this year. "You'll be going." Loid finally said. Anya beamed at him with a mouth full of pancakes.
Yor seemed happy about this decision as well, pouring syrup onto her own pancakes and taking a bite of them. The realization hit Anya only a moment later; she would be going to summer camp, and Damien was going to be there.
She groaned out and let her head fall next to her plate, her pink hair just nearly avoiding the sticky pancakes.
Loid snapped his head in her direction, an eyebrow raised in confusion. "I thought you wanted to go?" He asked, clearly lost as to why Anya was so bummed out now."I just wanted another summer away from Damien..." She grumbled, lifting her head up with dreary eyes to look at her father. Loid just chuckled. "You two have been at this for ten years, I think you will be fine."
Anya grumbled at her father and let her head fall back to the table. "I'll see what I have to do to get you into the camp. I'll probably ask one of the other Eden College Parents for information."
Seemed like a good idea. Because then once I find out the amount, I'll get HQ to write us a check, and I'll give it to the proper authority.Anya groaned again and left the table, not bothering to finish her pancakes. This was going to be the worst summer ever.
