Runaway and the Kiddo

[Nothing nasty obviously]

"Damn! Where'd she go?", one marine shouted. "The boss is gonna kill me.."
"YOU MEAN US, YOU MORON!!!", the other exclaimed. "Let's go back, it's too cold for this!"

You were hiding behind an abandoned building until the two Marines made their way down the snowy hill.
You continue walking up when all of a sudden you hear sobbing.
Approaching towards the voice, you spot a child.

*sniffle* Who-Who are you?", the little boy asked, wiping his face.

"Aw, you poor thing"

You squat down in front of him.

"What are you doing out here alone?"

The kid looks up at you.

"I...was in danger so I ran away"

"You don't have a guardian or-?"
"I have no one..."
"No one?"

Tears begin to form in the child's eyes.

"I have nowhere to go..."

"You could come with me if you'd like", you smile.

The kid's face lights up! He picks his head up and jumps into your arms, clinging to you tightly.

"Aww"
"Will you...stay with me forever?"
"Of course, little guy"

Your warm and inviting smile gave the kid no reason to worry.
All of the sadness he felt before was suddenly being washed away.

"It's pretty cold out here, isn't it kiddo?"
"Yeah...where are we going?"
"My cabin, it's close by"

The boy looks at your face for a while.

"What's your name?"
"Miss (Y/N), how about you?"
"Oh, I'm Law. Trafalgar Law"
"Fancy name you have there"
"So can I just call you, (Y/N)?"
"If that's what you prefer then sure"

Law's stomach grumbles.

"Could we get something to eat..?"
"Definitely, I'm working up an appetite myself"

[More walking blah blah]

You open the door to your home and Law takes in the warmth of the place.

"Go and get you something from the pantry, kiddo"
"Anything?", his eyes light up. "Thank you, Miss (Y/N)!!!"

Law doesn't waste any time running to the kitchen, returning with a container of cookies.
You scratch his head and give him a smile.

"Miss (Y/N)..?"
"Yeah, kiddo?"
"Can I tell you more about why I was left outside..?"
"Sure, but let's get you in the bath first"
"Oh yeah, I am a little dirty.."

In the bathroom you run Trafalgar's bath water.
Once the water reaches a good height you give him the green light to go ahead and undress.
The kid steps into the water and instantly relaxes.

"This feels nice..", the boy said in a soft voice.

You squeeze some shampoo from a bottle and run it through Law's head.

"Miss (Y/N), can I tell you now?"
"Yeah, go ahead"
"Th...Agh! It's too much!"
"Hey hey, you don't have to tell me"
"They-They killed Corazon! Right in front of me..!"

You stop massaging through his scalp. "Corazon?"

"Yeah...he was the only one to care for me like this..."

You mumble to yourself. "Doffy, you bastard!"

"Did you say something, (Y/N)?"
"No, not at all"
"What was your past like?"
