Chapter Nine: Wish upon the star

"The business proposal was a success! Mr. Arthur Kim and Mr. David Lee give us a huge deal!" Masayang wika ni Dad habang kasalukuyan kami bumabiyahe patungong hotel. I really happy on how Dad casually talks and expressed his stories about the business, parang he really trust me like a partner. Tanging matamis na ngiti ang tugon ko sa kaniya.

Lumabas ang charm and cuteness ni Dad kapag magkukwento siya and now I know how I fell in love with his simple habits and gestures, he really made me focused my attention to him.

Pagkarating namin ng hotel ay nagbihis kami at nagpalit. We decide to explore the beauty of Clark, as we hover the road the night filled with lights rushed towards us. We eat a lot of foods, drink some booze and visit some nice places. We walked while holding each other hands without prejudice and care to our surroundings. For me this night is one of the best and beautiful night I spend together with Dad. At once my anxious mind turned calm and quiet. Sana laging ganito. Sana hindi na umusad pa ang oras. I hope that Dad will be by my side forever.

"Dan! Look! There's a shooting star! Wish Dan! Make a wish!" Turo ni Dad as we just watched a falling star dashing through the colorful night sky.

I closed my eyes and wish...

'I hope that Dad and I will be forever together.'

As I opened my eyes I saw Dad smiling at me and gave me a warm hugged. I tightly squeeze myself in his chest and we kissed in that beautiful cold night.

Jaime POV

Nakatulog sa sobrang pagod si Dan habang sakay ng aming kotse pabalik sa aming hotel.

Hindi ko maiwasang mapangiti as I try to remember all of our happiest moments together. Who would have thought that I will fell in love to guy for the first time at sa step-son ko pa.

I couldn't imagine that I will risked my relationship in this kind of love affair. Aminado akong nagkasala ako sa asawa ko, kay Agnes, Dan's mom o kaya pati na rin sa diyos. I know I am wrong, we are wrong to continue our relationship pero ngayon lang ako sumugal, knowing the risked that it may one day shattered this family, a perfect family I envision with Agnes.

Hinawakan kong mahigpit ang kamay ni Dan.

Pagtingin ko sa harap ay may bumulagang mabilis na truck ang biglang sumulpot at patungo ito sa amin.

"No! Dan!" Mabilis kong iniliko ang kotse pero huli na nang sumalpok ito sa likod na bahagi ng kotse at tumilapon kami at bumangga sa isang poste.

Bigla akong nagising, medyo hilo at halos walang marinig. Agad kong hinanap si Dan. I navigate myself and took out the safety belts and dragged him out of our car and place him at a safe distance. Still I am disoriented but I need to check Dan first.

"Dan! Son! Gising! Wake up!" Pagyugyug ko kay Dan. There's still no response.

I check his breathing, humihinga pa siya pero nahihirapan.

"Tulong! F-fuck... Dan! Hub! Gising!" Sigaw ko at patuloy na ginigising si Dan.

Ilang minuto may napadaan na ilang kotse at mabilis kaming tinulungan. May tumawag na rin ng ambulsya ngunit hindi pa rin nagigising si Dan.

"Aaaaahhh! Dan! Please wake son! Dan!" I wailed and scream out of my lungs calling his name. Nang mapansin ko ang dugo sa ulunan niya. Bigla ako kinabahan, nilamig at nanuyo ang aking lalamunan.

"No... Noooo! Dan! Son! Anak..! Please..." Sa puntong iyon yakap-yakap ko si Dan at tanging iyak at pagsigaw ko sa pangalan niya ang nagawa ko.

'This is just a mad dream... Please God don't let Dan go. Please...'

Then the ambulance came, they put Dan in the streatcher and they shove him in the ambulance. Pumasok din ako habang ginagamot ang ilang bali at sugat.

Napatulala lang ako nang mga oras na iyon. I know that one of the ambulance team tried to reach me but I can't uttered a single word. My eyes just fixed on the bloody fainted body of Dan. My eyes went wet and tears escaped from it.

"It's my fault... It's my fault..." I whispered.
