In the quiet moments between hospital visits and therapy sessions, Shankar and Gowri's unspoken affection hung in the air, as palpable as the emotions that coursed through their hearts. Their bond had grown from friendship to something deeper, a love that neither was quite ready to confess.

One evening, as they sat on the hospital balcony, the distant echoes of the city filling the silence, Gowri turned to Shankar. Her voice was soft but tremulous, reflecting the emotions she had kept concealed for so long. "Shankar, I've been meaning to tell you something."

Shankar looked at her, his eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation. "What is it, Gowri?"

Her fingers played with a loose strand of her hair as she gathered the courage to speak. "I... I love you, Shankar. More than just a friend."

Shankar 's heart skipped a beat. He had wanted to say the same thing for so long, but the words had remained trapped in his heart, unspoken. "Gowri, I love you too. I have for a while now. I'm not telling this now just for the sake of telling, I really mean every single word, It was just that I wanted to convey all that in my heart, just filled with love for you, getting over even the smallest betrayal in my heart "

Gowri couldn't hold  any-longer, throwed herself in the safest embrace of his crying her heart out just out of happiness, while Shankar cradled her in his arms, as if  she was a little kid, kissing her forehead and her eyes.

But there was his health condition wavering between them, but not their love. His health and the feel of betrayal from Meera was like a bridge between them that neither was willing to cross, at least not yet. They were both scared of what this love meant, of how it might change their dynamic. But it was a risk they were willing to take, for they couldn't deny the intensity of their emotions.

As the days turned into weeks, Shankar 's recovery progressed, but their hearts continued to be in turmoil. They shared intimate moments, often finding solace in each other's company. A gentle touch of the hand, a lingering gaze, or a soft caress of the cheek conveyed more than words ever could.

One evening, as they watched the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Shankar broke the silence. "Gowri, we can't keep these feelings locked inside forever. We owe it to ourselves to embrace this love, even if it's scary."

Gowri nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I know, Shankar. It's just... I don't want to risk losing what we have."

Shankar took her hand in his, his touch warm and reassuring. "I don't either, Gowri. But I can't imagine my life without you, and I don't want to spend it wondering 'what if.' Let's take this journey together, no matter where it leads."

They both knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but they had already faced life's challenges head-on. With their unspoken love hanging in the balance, they were ready to take the next step, no matter how uncertain it might be.
