For the remainder of that week, Blake and Alex held that grudge against each. Lunch for the next few days was boring and awkward since neither of them wanted to talk. They pretty much ignored each other. Anytime I talked to either one of them in the hall, the other one would walk away. It was the most childish thing ever.
The drive home with Alex on Wednesday didn't involve any talking at all except for when he was saying "good bye" after dropping me home. Blake was the same way on Thursday when he dropped me home. Seeing how they were acting, I was afraid that World War III would occur.
__________
Friday afternoon
"The game starts at seven.", Blake said as we stood outside the back entrance to the parking lot."I can drop you home now, but I have to come back here immediately for the warm-ups, drills, and planning out the plays with the team and coaches.", He added. "So you'll need a ride there."
"Oh shoot. I do.", I said. "I have a whole lot of planning to do since my dad doesn't want me to go and I don't know what time Alex is taking his cousin to the movie."
We started walking to the parking lot to his car.
"Why doesn't your dad want you to go?", Blake asked.
"He thinks that my behavior doesn't permit me in going.", I said. Blake still looked confused. "It's a long story."
As we arrived at his car, I heard Alex's voice some distance away.
"Hey, Jesse!", He called to me.
I moved so that I could see him through the various cars around me. He turned to Blake and scowled.
"Hey asshole.", Alex said to Blake.
Blake was ready to march off to him, but I held him back.
"You're lucky Jesse is holding you back. You wouldn't want to get some broken bones before the big game.", Alex said.
"I don't see you trying to come over here to me.", Blake growled back.
"Both of you be quiet. Geez.", I said then turned to Alex. "What time are you going to the movies with your cousin?"
"About eight is when it starts so we're probably leaving out at about quarter to eight.", He said. "Why? You need a ride to the game?"
"Yea."
"You're boyfriend can't take you?", He asked folding his arms.
"No. I'm going to be in the game, genius.", Blake said.
"Did I even look in your direction?", Alex asked.
I cut Blake off before he could respond. "Can you take me or not. Alex?"
"Yea. I can.", He said.
"Ok. You can pick me up at about 6:20 so I can get my tickets quickly and get a good seat.", I told him.
He nodded, waved at me, gave one more glare at Blake, then went inside his truck. I coaxed Blake back to the driver's side hoping he wouldn't snap right then and there and decide to murder Alex.
He was quiet for most of ride home, which I expected. He drove extra reckless this time around which was the result of Alex pissing him off.
"Zach, David, and Michael will be there two. I told them to wait for for you near the ticket booth and meet up so you four can sit together.", Blake said.
"Ok.", I said watching the yellow line down the road. "And about what happened at lunch a few days ago..."
"It was just one of Alex's moments. You know how he can be sometimes.", Blake said.
"What do you mean?"
"He's bipolar, right?"
"Wait. How do you know that?", I asked.
"He told me last weekend."
What? Why would Alex tell Blake that? And since when was Alex and him close enough to talk about personal things?
"You both exchanged numbers?", I said looking at him.
"Yea but we've stopped talking since Tuesday."
"So is that like a thing- for a best friend to talk to the their own friend's boyfriend?"
"Why? Is that strange?", Blake asked.
"No. I just never expected you guys to talk to each other. Alex was sort of cautious about you to begin with. He warmed up to you for a day or two and now he doesn't want anything to do with you."
"Well maybe that's how he is.", Blake said.
"No he's not. I've know him long enough to know that he's not like that."
"Jesse.", Blake said taking my hand. "You trust me, right?"
I nodded looking at him. He looked away from the road and too me for brief periods of time. We soon approached my house.
"Then you know that I would tell you anything.", He said.
"It just seems like.."
"I love you too much to put you through anything that would make you upset. Alex is just being an overly protective friend. Ok?"
I sighed and looked away then back at him. "Ok."
"Good. See you at the game.", He leaned in and kissed me. That's one thing that will never get old- the way he kisses me.
He took my neck in his hand gently as I moved my hand up his shirt. I could feel his quick breaths of air blowing on my cheek.
"You didn't put the car in park, babe.", I whispered to him in between kisses.
He continued kissing me and shifted the car into park and pulled up the hand brake. My hand trailed up and down his chest then down to his crotch. He moaned into my mouth suddenly, running his fingers through my hair.
"So. I'm guessing you're not mad... at me anymore?", Blake breathed.
"I was never mad at you.", I said pressing my lips against his.
His crotch became stiffer as I ran my hand along it. The moans emitting from his mouth grew louder.
"Jesse. I have to go. I'm going to be late.", Blake said. "We can continue this at the after party."
"After party?", I asked.
"Yeah. We have one after every game. Our quarterback throws them at his house every time.", He explained. "You know Brendan Wilkins, right?"
"Doesn't everybody. Isn't he stereotypically rich.", I asked.
"Yea but he always throws a hell of a party. Please come.", Blake said.
"Fine, but I have to be back before midnight. But knowing that I'm already disobeying my dad by going to the game anyway, I'm going to be in a heap of trouble."
"But at least you'll have the time of your life today though. Plus, tomorrow's Saturday. No body follows curfews."
I laughed and pecked him on the lips. "You have somewhere to be. I'll see you in a little while."
I opened my car door and scooted out before I felt Blake grabbed my arm back.
He kissed me again. "See ya, Jester!"
I chuckled at my new nickname. "Jester? Not bad. It's more creative then the one I gave you."
