Astrid was experiencing complete and utter disbelief over everything that had happened in the past few hours. From her baby sister's annoying teenage drama, to seeing said sister heartbroken once again and witnessing Bonnie fall deeper into dangerous magical territory. It had become quite clear to her that Bonnie had no idea what she was dealing with and it was pretty apparent that she wasn't in the right state of mind to take the necessary measures. With Shane still alive, Astrid knew that time was running out quickly, and so she decided to take matters into her own hands. She had a plan, she always has a plan. The witch had a few options to prevent Silas' awakening. The easiest one would be to just kill Shane, but that would have just made matters worse with Bonnie and Astrid didn't want to further strain whatever relationship they had left, not when there was a chance she could help the girl get her natural magic back. Her second option would have been to kill Jeremy, since he had the map to the cure. However, she did not want to take away the only family Elena had left, especially her baby brother, Astrid knows the pain of losing someone like that all too well and she would never want to experience it again. Even though her and the Gilbert girl were not close, she did feel sorry for her.
So, she decided to take a more direct approach. Find Silas' first and kill him herself. She was well aware of the fact that Jeremy's tattoo was incomplete so there was no way to get the map and the spell from him. But the Mikaelson witch always had a few tricks up her sleeve. Being a powerful witch for a thousand years had its perks as it gave her an insane amount of knowledge. She had read countless of books on Silas, including all of her mother's books.
When Astrid was merely a teenager her mum had asked her for help with a powerful locator spell on Silas. Esther had heard rumours that certain tribes were planning to wake him, and she was determined to put a stop to that by finding him herself. They weren't quite successful but she remembers her mother saying that she could somewhat tell his whereabouts, she had went off to try and find him but it was to no avail, so instead she just wrote everything down. Esther thought it would be useful to pass down some information about Silas to Astrid, and she had made it very clear to her that if there ever was talk of Silas potentially awaking, she must put a stop to it. Unfortunately for Astrid, only one person in her family held all the family weapons, antiques, heirlooms and books. Klaus.
The idea of asking him of a favour made her seethe with anger. Mostly because she had sworn she was never gonna ask him of anything ever again, but also because she knew Klaus would ask her for something in return. Something she wouldn't like, that's just how Klaus was. Always torturing his siblings just because he felt like it. Instead, she'd wait for the perfect opportunity to ask him, until then all she can do his just sit and wait.
And there is nothing that Astrid loved more than having some private quiet and peace. She loved having her own little time to relax and read some classic literature. And that's exactly what she was currently doing, sitting down on her little couch by her bedroom window reading her comfort book for what could very well be the hundredth time, 'Little Women' . The feel of a book with a smooth hardback cover always pleased her, the feeling of flipping through the pages soothed her, calmed her like no other herbal potion could ever do so. The scent of an old book strangely brought comfort to her.
