- Y/ns POV -

Today I woke up feeling weird, I felt drained and like the whole inside of my body was cold, my throat hurt a lot so I decided to head downstairs. maybe a cup of warm tea would help? 

As I entered the kitchen I saw my mom cooking scrambled eggs for breakfast

"Hey mom," I said as turned her head noticing me

"Oh, good morning hunny, sleep well?" she asked me turning back to the eggs

"Yeah.. but my throat hurts really bad, could I have a cup of tea?" I asked her

"oh, baby did you catch a cold? and sure I'll make you a cup, just go get ready for school if you're going" She smiled

"Okay thanks, mom!" I said as I hurried up to my room

"Okay I am definitely not going for fancy today," I said talking to myself as I found a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie, putting them on before going to my vanity

I fetch my hairbrush and start brushing my knotted hair, letting out groans of annoyance and small 'Ow's as my hair is finally contained

I still feel my throat hurting so I head downstairs again to check on the breakfast and tea that should have been done by now

"Hi Mommm" I said as she turned around with a plate of eggs and bacon and a cup of tea

"British menu for Miss Y/n" She laughs

"Oh yeah your kinda right" I let out a small laugh "Well Mom I was thinking I would like to stay home, I don't think my throat is gonna be better before school starts," I tell her

"Well I gotta get to work now so you just stay home, there's still some tea in the kettle for you" She smiles as she kisses my forehead

"Bye Mom" I smile

"Bye sweetie," she says as she walks out opening the door "There's blueberry waffles in the freezer!" she yells just before the door smacks

"OooH! yummy" I say now realising I am talking to myself again "Weirdo" I furrow my eyebrows to literally no one but myself again

- Vances POV - Time skip -

I have realised Y/n hasn't been here all day so far, she hasn't been in the hall that I normally walk by her in, or in any of the classes that we share I wanted to convince myself that I wasn't worried for her because it really wouldn't sound like me, But I did.

The bell rang but I didn't wanna go to class, I decided to hide in the bathroom till everyone had gone to their classes before booking it out and going straight to her house, I knew where she lived because we had done a project together there

I neared the house now thinking I should turn around again, would it be weird to check in on her? were not that close..

I decided why not? I walked up the patio steps and lifted my hand to knock before letting out a sigh, two knocks and I heard a little bit of tumbling down the stairs as the door flung open

"Oh!- vance?.." she questioned her cheeks looking a little red

"Hey, uhmm I noticed you weren't at school today.. uhmm are you okay?" I asked her with a slight smile, something I almost never do but I couldn't help it around her

Did I have a soft spot for Y/n Y/l/n 

I thought to myself as my thoughts were interrupted by her answer

"Yeah, it's just a cold nothing serious- but, why are you here?" she questioned

"u-uhm.. Th-the project th-" I tried to come up with a dumb excuse before she shot right back at me

"that we finished two weeks ago? Vance. come on, im not dumb. why are you really here?" she questioned me

"uhmm" I scratched my head "School was boring and you weren't there so I decided to skip to come see you... can I maybe come inside?" I asked

"Oh okay, valid. And yeah come in, why not" She smiled gesturing for me to come inside so she could close the door

"Want anything?" she asked me

- Y/ns POV -

"No I'm okay" he answered

"We could find a movie or maybe play a board game?" I asked him as he took off his shoes

"You need to relax, we should watch a movie," He said

"Okay! I'll grab some snacks and drinks from the kitchen" I said turning around to the kitchen like he didn't just make my insides tingle and cheeks red

"Sure thing," he says as I disappear into the kitchen, and I hear him heading to the livingroom, I grab two bags of Cheetos from the cabinet and two 7-ups from the fridge 

I headed back to see him sitting on the couch manspreading, it was kind of hot seeing him like that, he had already found the remote which was pointing towards the TV where he was aimlessly scrolling thru movies on Netflix 

"Im back," I said as he checked my direction before turning back to the TV

"Oh hey I was just searching for a movie, come here I found a blanket for you," He said

"Oh wow thank you, Vance Hopper being kind? who could have imagined?" I said teasing him a little

"shut up" he smiled getting embarrassed

"It's cute tbh," I said as he looked at me with a small smile saying nothing

I sat down beside him putting the snacks on the coffee table and wrapping myself in the comfy blanket he found for me

"Thank you btw, for coming over so I wouldn't have to be all alone" I said

"Of course, you know I don't mind skipping school" he let out a deep chuckle 

"Oh I know!" I said ironically as I stared at him "Is it okay if I lay in your lap?" I asked him

He seemed shocked with my questions

"Yeah sure" he spat out quickly

I played down as we scrolled for a little longer, we decided on watching Julie and the Phantoms, he clicked play and I settled in comfortably 

I felt his hand touch my hair and he started to play with it a little, I was glad he couldn't see my heated face...

That was the closest to a good ending I could think of rn but I posted to hope you guys are happy!!
