"Why are you still here? It should've been you in the car accident instead of your brother." My mothers words keep repeating in my head.
Why is she saying this? My brother isn't dead, just in a coma. I wonder if she really means it, or is she just drunk. Maybe the first one.
"Where is he? Where is my son?" I heard my dad angrily shout.
"Sir, your son can't have visitors right now," one of the doctors responded to him calmly. 'Your family is in the waiting area."
When I turned around I could see him hesitate, then walk over to us.
"This is your fault! If you hadn't been out getting drunk my son wouldn't be here."
Please don't start arguing. I don't like being around people arguing, or fighting.
"This is not my fault. If this stupid mistake didn't have him leave the house to come get her from some stupid school thing Ty wouldn't be here." My mom loves hurting me with her words.
I knew my dad was about to go off, so I stepped in. "Dad, mom is right. I should have just waited for mom."
I said what my mom wanted to hear, but not what my dad wanted to hear. He walked to me, "Don't say that. You know it's not your fault." He pulled me into a hug. Something I've been needing for a while now.
"Olivia is in the car. She's going to take you to the house, and you're going to pack most of your stuff."
"You can't take my daughter away from me." She came over and pulled my arm really hard. Now the bruises are starting to hurt again.
"Oh, so now she's your daughter." He turned to me and told me to go wait in the car.
I quickly went to the car. As soon as I got in the car Olivia took me to my house, I couldn't be more happy that my dad came when he did. If he didn't my mom and James her boyfriend would have taken their anger out on me. Olivia told me that when my brother gets out he's also coming to live with us too.
We're also going to pick up my baby sister Maya from my grandma's house. Thank God she wasn't here for anything.
"Is that everything that you want to keep," Olivia asked.
I nodded, "Yes, I didn't want some of that stuff anyway." James just bought us stuff to keep us quiet. "Can you help me pack Maya's stuff?"
"Yeah, let's put your stuff in the trunk."
It took us another 30 mins to make sure we got everything. Hopefully mom hasn't told James that dad was getting me and Maya today.
...
"Sissy.' Maya happily ran up to me. "I missed you."
"I missed you too. Did grandma tell you what happened?" She nodded in response, and her happiness went away.
"We don't have to be with James or mommy again, right?"
"Yeah, we're moving with dad and Olvia. Jacob is also coming when he gets out okay." I answered.
Olivia didn't want us to be around longer in case James showed up, so we had to leave quickly. I'm so glad we're leaving this town. I'm ready for a new start.
