The boy was under his blanket, on the verge of tears. He was refusing to accept what he had just heard.

His dad and Foxy are not only lying to him, but the whole crew.

He did not go back to Cassie or Roxanne. He was filled with so many emotions. He was almost considering giving up, but now, he had to know more.

But how would he even approach Freddy about this? Did he even want to talk to his dad?

His barrage of thoughts was interrupted by a knock on his door.

"What?!" He snapped, worrying it was dad.

To his relief, it was Cassie who walked in. The girl gave him a look of concern and crawled on the bed with him. They were sharing a room together again.

"Greg, what's wrong? You look sad-" she placed a gentle paw on his shoulder. The boy scowled and pushed her paw off.

"I'm great! Just... perfect!" He yelled sarcastically, causing the girl to flinch in surprise. The boy realized his tone and took a deep breath to calm himself.

"Cas-"

Both of them froze at the sound of distressed screaming from outside. Before they had time to react, Foxy and Freddy raced into their rooms.

"Kids, we 'ave to go!" Foxy gestured for them.

Both of them followed in confusion. Gregory put aside his initial anger and ran to Freddy to hug his leg.

"Dad, what's happening?!" He could hear the screams growing louder and more chaos was forming.

"Pirates, Gregory! They're raiding the village, I need to get you guys to safety."

He lifted the boy up to his chest before he could protest. He gestured for Cassie to come as well.

The bear lifted her up as well and hurried towards the entrance of the Inn.

"Wait, shouldn't we stay?! We can hide in here!" Cassie argued. Freddy shook his head.

"No. That won't stop them." He spoke grimly.

It was not until Freddy took them outside that they saw the horror unleashed during what was supposed to be a celebration.

The wood buildings had already caught fire, and the villagers were frantically running for their lives as the pirates raided their homes and robbed them. Many villagers were already unresponsive and tossed around the ground.

There were the sounds of gunshots ringing in the air over the roaring flames and cries. Freddy quickly carried them away and ran out of the town, still holding them tight.

"What about the others?!" Gregory glanced behind him at the falling village.

"They know what to do! I need to get you two to safety first!" Freddy grunted in response.

He found what looked like an old den under a tree and knelt down to usher them inside.

"They're going to search these woods for more villagers. Stay quiet, and don't come out for anything!" He ordered. He half-hazardly covered the entrance with nearby rocks and left before they could argue back, leaving both children scared and confused.

It was only a few minutes later that Freddy was proven right. He could hear the men running in the woods and a few villagers wailing in terror.

More gunshots rang out, and Cassie nearly cried out, so Gregory covered her mouth and held her close. He was on high alert.

They could hear them running by the den, nearly finding them.

Both of them were worried for the crew. They trusted the adults could take care of themselves, but it still worried them.
