Lost in my thoughts, my friends noticed my distant expression and attempted to snap me out of it. After a few minutes of their efforts, I finally came back to reality when I unintentionally mentioned the names Taylor and Ruby. Their confused gazes met mine, aware that I had been lost in my own world. It was unusual for me to talk about relationships, so their curiosity was piqued.

They bombarded me with questions, eager to know who had caught my eye. I was taken aback by their excitement but didn't reveal the person's identity. Instead, I redirected the conversation, annoyed by their persistence. They eventually apologized and returned to their previous topic.

Just then, a group of people entered the café, catching our attention. I instinctively looked over and saw Taylor and her friends, Ruby, Hunter, Marco, and Rafael, taking a seat across from us. Their laughter filled the air as they engaged in lively conversation.

Ruby, deciding to take a detour to our table, assessed me from head to toe. She knew that I had feelings for Taylor, her best friend and someone she saw as a younger sister. Curiosity filled my mind as I wondered what she was up to. When I asked her, she simply replied that she was assessing whether I was good enough for Taylor.

Embarrassed, I blushed and looked down, knowing exactly who she was talking about. Ruby's smile widened as she assured me that she would help me. The warmth of her support made me feel grateful and relieved. I glanced at my friends, who were now looking at Ruby with curiosity. She greeted them with a friendly "hi," and they responded in kind.

However, Hyunjin couldn't resist teasing Ruby about her height. He called her a little kid, igniting Ruby's fiery spirit. In an unexpected move, she grabbed his shirt, pulling him closer until their faces were mere inches apart. She demanded that he repeat his remark, and he complied. Before he could finish, she slapped him, shocking everyone at the table .

Silence descended upon us as all eyes turned to Ruby and Hyunjin. No one had ever challenged him before, and Ruby's boldness left us all in awe. Hyunjin stared back at her with a mix of anger and confusion, while Ruby stood her ground, reminding him that she had done a background check on me. The revelation that she had gathered information on all my friends left us all stunned.

As the shock settled, Ruby's smile remained. She simply stated that she had her ways of finding out. The entire café seemed to be holding its breath, captivated by Ruby's audacity and determination.

After a while, Ruby bid me farewell, mentioning that she would be rejoining her friends. I thanked her for her support, my heart feeling lighter knowing that I had her backing. As she walked away, I noticed someone in the background smiling at her, someone I hadn't noticed before. It piqued my curiosity, but I decided to focus on the present moment.

Returning my attention to my friends and their conversation, I realized that they had momentarily forgotten about Taylor's group. It was as if they had completely forgotten that we were in the same café. Suddenly, Ruby's voice broke through the chatter, saying a friendly "hi." The others greeted her back, still processing the events that had just unfolded.

Hyunjin, in particular, seemed bewildered. He couldn't comprehend how Ruby knew so much about him. She had revealed his full name, Hwang Hyunjin, which surprised everyone as we had only known him by his nickname. He asked her how she knew, and she casually mentioned that she had done a background check on me, proving her knowledge. Hyunjin, along with the rest of us, was left speechless.

Ruby's actions had left an indelible mark on us all. The café patrons gradually returned to their own conversations, but the shock of Ruby's revelations lingered in our minds. She had shown a side of herself that no one had expected, leaving us in awe of her cuteness and fearlessness.

With the first part of the day coming to a close, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards Ruby. Her presence had brought a newfound excitement and anticipation to my journey of discovering and pursuing my feelings for Taylor.
