-Living Room (Behl's household)-
Mica composed himself by the staircase and walked downstairs.
"Oh, Mica, umm... where's Rosie... What's going on, why are your eyes and nose red?" Mrs. Roxhojen rushed over to him and caressed his face and hair. "What happened? Tell mummy." She asked worriedly not taking her eyes off of him.
"I'm fine mum," he turned away and wiped his face with his sleeve near his palm. "I'll excuse myself first, I need to rest." He looked towards the Behls and his father, bid them goodnight, and went back home.
"I wonder what's happened?" Mrs. Roxhojen watched as he left.
"I'm sure it's nothing to be worried about." Mrs. Behl said.
"Yeah, kids quarrel all the time." Mr. Roxhojen replied.
"I'm going home to have a check on him..." Mrs. Roxhojen went to collect her coat and purse by the couch, ready to leave.
"Dear, don't be too worried about Mica and give him some space, he clearly needed some time alone." Her husband stood up and embraced her shoulders from behind.
"No... I need to go home," she withdrew from his embrace. "Pardon me Teresa, Alex, I will take my leave now." She nodded at the Behls as she bid them farewell and went off.
Her husband stood there, lifting his palm on his forehead and shook his head, "Ahh... my wife is such a worrywart. I think I have to go home too to check on them both."
"Yeah, maybe we could gather again some other day." Mr. Behl said. The Behls walked him towards the house door.
"Well, you guys take care," said Mr. Roxhojen.
"You too, good night." The Behls couple said concurrently.
After seeing him walk off, Mrs. Behl shut the house door and turned towards her husband.
"Did Rosie do something?"
"Come on darling, they are not kids anymore, let them sort their own matters. Just like John said, it's best if we give them some space."
"Rosie's always making Mica upset, she always makes him cry, remember?"
"That was so long ago, they were so young. Now just let them be. I'm sure things will be fine. I trust Rosie will do the right thing."
"So you think it's Rosie's fault too? I can't, I need to talk to her now!"
"Stop it darling, calm down... I think Rosie needs some time to get things over too."
Rosie was standing by the stairwell.
Just now, she tried to chase after Mica but their parents were there. She's afraid of them, to be honest. It's true what her mum said, that Mica cried a lot when he was young. Once, his parents bought him a brand new expensive bicycle. Back then, she had never seen anything like it before. It looked awesome even with training wheels, and it made her so envious. So she snatched his bicycle when he was cycling in front of her, basically pushed him off the bike, and took over the wheels.
She remembered how cool she was riding it around the neighborhood, showing off the bicycle as if it were hers. He wasn't mad though, just running slowly with his little short feet, catching her up from behind. She eventually made a stop at the side path, mocking him for his slow feet. He was still smiling and wasn't angry or sad at all. He just dashed at her the moment she stopped, pushed her forward the saddle, and squeezed himself into the back of the saddle. She almost fell off.
"Hey stop forcing yourself on the saddle, the saddle's too small! S-stop! There's no space for the two of us!" Angrily, she shoved him away and he lost balance and fell. This time, he cried, really cried.
He wailed so loudly that passersby came over to have a look. They were all over Mica. Comforting him, gently patting his head, and talking to him softly to calm him down... Then, they glared at her. Just like that, she became the neighborhood villain. He wasn't even hurt. At that time she thought. Well... maybe a little scratch on his hand and foot.
Eventually, it reached the ears of their parents, as one of the passersby knew her parents as they were in the same neighborhood. As a result, she got a good long lecture that her ears hurt and got grounded by her mum. His parents on the other hand, especially his mum, Mrs. Roxhojen, were wary of her since the incident. They won't let Mica play with her that often anymore. If Mica hadn't insisted and secretly sneaked into her house every time, she doubted his mum would let her near her precious child anymore. That's how overprotective his mum was.
Ever since then, Mica has changed. He used to let her snatch away all his imported candies, which she loved, and toys. Which he had A LOT! She was just very jealous at how pampered he was, and how everyone always coddled him. When she took his stuff away, he would just smile and hug her, although she pushed him away every single time. However, after the bike incident, he cried whenever she took his stuff, even if it was just one candy.
He ran off to either his mum or her mum and hugged them tightly, burying his face into their dresses. And she remembered what came into her view was her mum's angry glare and his mum's wariness. Not only she would get yelled at, but her dad would give her an earful after he was told about this as well.
She knew what she did was bad, but it just became natural for her to take away his stuff like it was hers because he wasn't mad or anything. He was happy, right? She thought.
After a few of those incidents of him crying and her getting lectured, whenever she saw his eyes getting watery, even the tiniest bit, she would tremble unconsciously, her lips even went slightly pale. She instinctively avoided his eyes and shut herself in her room, hoping he couldn't get in. If I don't see him, I won't be in trouble, He won't cry, I won't be scolded. it's a win-win. she thought.
She faked being sick, hid in her house, tried to make other friends instead to avoid playing with him, etc.
Then both their parents stepped in, and they decided in their small meeting to come up with a plan so that their children could make up. And the Roxhojens invited the Behls to the biggest most popular theme park in the city. Rosie, who had never been to theme parks before, had the best time of her life over there like any other child. Just like that, the two little buddies bury the hatchet, over a theme park playdate.
Thinking about the old days, she felt that everything was her fault. Mica was so nice and cared about her so much, she thought. Not only did she take him for granted before, but even now... She kept hurting him every single time.
"I must apologize to Mica..."
The wound from her neck was still hurting, she felt the dull, pulsing pain as she slowly walked away from the stairwell and went back to her room.

The next morning, Rosie woke up as usual and came downstairs to the living room. Everything was the same. Her mum was spreading butter onto a piece of bread, preparing breakfast. And... Wait...
"Mum, where's Mica?"
"He went to school," her mum put down the butter knife and looked up at her, "Do you think he'll always wait for you every day?" Then, as if spotted something strange, she scrunched her brows, "Rosie, what's that on your neck?" She moved closer to her and lifted her collar, revealing a wound patch near her neck. "What's this? Are you hurt?"
