beomgyu sighed over the phone. the words stuck in his throat as he tries to prevent himself from crying. it was hard for him to talk about his feelings so openly like this. "i think there's something going on. with taehyun i mean," huening kai sighed as well.

he couldn't stand seeing beomgyu all mopey. he wanted to see his hyung happy but he knew the one way to make it happen will break beomgyu.

"why, tell me." he already knew , he knew every word that would come out of his mouth.

the usual, "he hasn't been paying attention to me lately. i think he's losing feelings for me,"

"it'll be alright , just be patient."

"just talk to me will you?!" taehyun exclaimed. he was tired of beomgyu's constant outbursts. "there's always something with you. never a peaceful day i swear!"

"IF YOU PAID ATTENTION THEN YES, WE WOULD HAVE A PEACEFUL DAY!" he shouted. he knew he was sensitive, he knew this was falling apart, everything was clear to him but the heart wants what it wants.

taehyun groaned from the couch. "can you at least tell me what's wrong. i'm not superman, i can't read your mind."

this infuriated beomgyu even more. taehyun never listens nor bother to care what's going on. "all you care about is yourself and no one else!"

taehyun shrugged. he didn't even bother. he didn't want to waste his energy fighting over something ridiculous with beomgyu over and over again. it'll all be back to normal in a few hours anyways so why would he even care. him and beomgyu are soulmates after all.

they had a red thread on their pinky. as long as that invisible string is with them, he knew everything was okay. he still could feel the string , it'll be alright.

like he predicted , everything went back to normal after a few hours. beomgyu apologized and they were back to normal, hugging on the couch as they watched a movie. "i'm sorry for lashing out again,"

"i know."

his vision was blurry. he was slowly losing his grip. it didn't take him too long to realize what was going on.

"hyu-" taehyun went silent instantly when he saw beomgyu crying, holding his phone. all the words stuck in his throat. he felt small when beomgyu looked at him, eyes red filled with rage.

"why? am I not good enough for you taehyun?"

he took note of how beomgyu didn't call him by his nickname anymore. he felt even more guilty. "I-i can explain." he stammered. beomgyu sobbed even more.

"gyu, I swear it's not what you might think," taehyun said as he walked closer to beomgyu. he tried to hold beomgyu but angered by his actions, beomgyu slapped his hand away. he distanced himself more from taehyun. "shut up! I don't want to hear it."

the latter threw away the phone and went out of the room. not wanting to see even a little sight of taehyun. he was disgusted really. they've been together for 10 years. yet taehyun cheated.

was beomgyu not enough? did taehyun want two soulmates? was that even possible?

beomgyu fell on the floor, hugging his knees as he cried even more. was he not worthy of love anymore?

"hyung?" beomgyu looked up. his body was sore from the position he was in. he expected to see taehyun when he heard the calling but to his surprise it was huening kai.

beomgyu didn't want to talk. he just wanted to bury himself. imagine how embarrassing it was. your soulmate. the one who has the other red string, cheats on you.

he felt the younger hug him. it was comforting. but he still longed for that one person's warmth. his other half.

"hyung. what happened? why are you crying and why is your bedroom all messed up? I found your phone too. it's all broken. did something happen?"

"what do you mean my phone..?" beomgyu asked. he knew he threw taehyun's phone. "and taehyun.. h-he cheated on me. he was texting other girls. multiple of them. he.. I even saw him sending weird things to them. how embarrassing it is for me!" beomgyu sobbed even louder.

huening kai sighed. "hyung. taehyun's gone. he's been gone for a year now. today marks a year. the reason why your string has been feeling lose is because.." huening kai hesitated to finish.

beomgyu became impatient. wanting to know the reason to his over thinking. "what, what tell me!"

the younger sighed. "taehyun died. you and him got into an accident and only you survived. he never cheated on you. for fucks sake, he loved you so much and I'm pretty sure he still does."

"then.. then why am I crying? what did I see?"

"that was all your imagination. those text messages you assumed to see was nothing. there wasn't even a text like that. you threw away your own phone thinking it was taehyun's. you wanted to have a reason to hate him because you felt like it was your fault that he died. it was no one's fault.

you thought he was losing feelings because your string felt loose that's why your mind made up a scenario of him cheating so you'd have a reason to hate him and have a reason to feel so broken. taehyun never cheated nor did he lose feelings. it was all in your head hyung."

that made beomgyu burst into tears. he couldn't believe everything wasn't real. all those arguments were just him talking to himself and all those sweet moments was just him. he misses the warmth taehyun always gave him. he misses doing everything with taehyun.

he wants taehyun back. "it'll be alright hyung. it's time to forget and accept he's gone."
