Aufiero

Gunshots could be heard from 15 miles away. Bullets were flying everywhere. None of them had hit me or my team but the others were dying quickly. The first plan to take out the Russians didn't go so well. I ran as bullets began flying my way. I don't need to end up in the hospital again. "Stadi, right there"I whispered. I could see a couple russians hiding from us. He laughed and fired. I did the same. The were dead in a matter of seconds. I stood up from my positions and walked back onto the shipyard. "Get rid of the bodies correctly"I said.

I limped into my house slowly. I fell during that shootout, or whatever you wanna call it. My home was quiet. It's always quiet. I'm the only one that's ever here. Grabbing my phone, I dialed Noelle's number. I needed to see her.

"Hello"She spoke. Her voice was soft. "Hey, are you home?"

"Yeah"

"I'm stopping by"

"Okay. See you in a bit then"

"Bye"

I didn't expect to 'fall in love' with her so quickly. It's only been 4 weeks but I feel like I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I trust her with my life. It's obvious she cares about me. The way she looks at me lets me know that she does. She makes my heart skip beats whenever I see her and that's a lot coming from me. After Michelle passed, I didn't feel the need to look for love. All I wanted was sex. Sex was what I got too. Sex was what I wanted from Noelle but something changed. Everything changed to be honest.

She opened her door immediately after I rung the doorbell. I pulled her into a hug. My face rested in the crook of her neck. As I kiss her neck a wave of pleasure runs through my body. Her smell is intoxicating. She is intoxicating. My insides craved her touch. She gently pushed me away. "We can't stand at the door forever"She chuckles. We walked into her room sitting on the bed in the same position from earlier. "So, what did you do today?"

My face straightened. "Business"

She licked her lips. "Oh. That's nice"

I laughed. "Not really. I'm tired and my back is killing me"

"Maybe you should take a nap then"

"Maybe I should"

She smirked and pushed me back on the bed. "I was going through an old box at my mom's house earlier. It belonged to my dad and it had some stuff about Vaspicci's dad and some papers in it. I didn't take it because I think my mom would realize it was missing"

"Why would she realize it was missing?"I asked curiously. "Because I think she knows something about all of this" I sat up and rubbed my chin. "I mean, there's no way she couldn't have none about this. Her and my dad were married for a long time"She said. "But if she knew she would've recognized me when she came over that day"

"You said that your dad and Vaspicci's dad knew each other and my dad knew them too so have we met before?"

"No. I grew up in Italy with my mom. When I was 14, I moved here with my dad and 2 years later when my dad got hurt my mom and the rest of my family came here."

"So our fathers were good friends?"

"Yeah"

"So your dad doesn't know where the papers are?"

I shook my head. "No one knew but your dad"

She sighed. "This is so confusing."

"I know. I don't want you to get mixed up in this so just don't ask anymore questions" She frowned. "No, I need to understand this. The papers have things about the people who killed your grandparents and you need to get them so you can kill them"

I nodded. "The paper has an address on it. That's where they live. They place is really secluded. Your dad didn't tell the others because back then, security wasn't as good as it is now and if they would've went there, they all would've died. The same people that killed your dad were the same people that killed Michelle." She frowned again. "So why was my dad in the mafia?"

"Money. He said that you guys were really poor and etc. But that's what he told my dad"

"There's also a treaty. We can't go on their property which makes it even harder to kill them. If we knew exactly where they lived, we could follow them and kill them off their property and that could be the end but we can't find the papers."

"What if these papers don't exist? What if someone put it in you guyses mind that there's some paper with that certain address? What if the people who killed your grandparents are sitting right under your nose?" I laughed, "No. The paper exists and I will find it"

"Why can't you go on their property?"

"Because it's owned by Biagio's ancestors. His ancestors were like mafia royalty. If we were to go there, we'd die immediately. They have a bunch of high tech shit over there" She laughed. "In my opinion, I don't think there's a paper. Maybe the paper could've been a code for something"

"Maybe but I don't think so"I said. "Well, tomorrow, I'm going to talk to my mom about this"

"No"

"Why not?"

"Cause if she really doesn't know anything about this, then you're putting her in danger by telling her"

"I'm already putting her in danger by being in a relationship with you"

"Good point."

"What happens if you do kill them?"

"I don't know."

Noelle

Something about this story isn't right. There's no way my dad would've left behind a paper. He always worked in codes. Metaphors were his thing. It was his way of communicating. Someone that he knows is responsible for the killing. That's probably why he didn't tell them where the papers were because there aren't any papers. I stared at Aufiero as he was texting his mom. "She wants us to come over for lunch"He says. "Now?"

He nodded. "Can we be a little late because I'm barely ready?"

"Yeah, we don't have to be there now but like in the next hour" I laughed. "Aufiero, you need to learn the deffinition of now"

I left him in my room while I showered. The whole paper treaty situation thing is heavily on my mind. My dad was a smart man. I know him inside out . I know all of his tricks. I know for a fact that there is no paper. My dad has been dead for 12 years. If they couldn't have found that paper in 12 years then I know there is no paper.

I put my hair in a simple high ponytail. Flat ironing was just too much right now. "Where is this lunch?"

"Her house" Good. I can dress casual. I lotioned up and put on a pair of shorts and a graphic tee with converse. She should love me for who I am, not the way I dress. Plus, I look flawless. I mean, I'm always flawless. "Yeah, you are very flawless"Aufiero acknowledged. I covered my mouth. "Did I say that out loud?" He nodded with a smile. "Oh my gawsh" He laughed, "Don't be embarassed"

Aufiero's mother's house is nice. She has a mansion like house too. I guess all mafia men have mansion like houses. My dad had one. The inside is very beautiful and spacious. I can tell that she decorated Aufiero's home. She greeted me with a smile and said she liked my shirt. It was awkward but good. "Noelle, what do you study in college?" His mom asked. "Psychology and Journalism" She smiled. "I studied Journalism. It was great"

It was just us in the kitchen. Aufiero was upstairs doing something with his dad. "What college do you attend?" I smiled. "Morgan State University." (MSU is actually located in Baltimore but for rn its gonna be in Annapolis) She smiled back. "I went there" The room was filled with laughter cause by me. "What was it like going to a HBCU?" She smiled again. "At first it was awkward but then I was just like, 'fuck it' and I made lots of friends" We sat down at the dining room table discussing college stuff. Turns out that Professor Juniper's dad was her professor. She said Professor Juniper got his ways from his dad. Like father, like son

"Noelle?"

I turned around and gasped at the person in front of me. "Uncle Luca"
