I almost lost track of what day it was. If it wasn't for Jaylee, I would still be cuddled up in bed with Aufiero. Monday is a day that I sometimes dread. College is not exactly how I thought it would be. The only good thing is that I don't have to worry about being accepted into any other schools because after college, I'll be done.
Grabbing my laptop bag, I walked inside of the building prepared for the day. People stared at me and I started to get the feeling that there was something on my face but there wasn't. "Congradulations"Marcus said to me. I raised my brow. Marcus was a cool kid but we haven't really been talking lately. "What?" He laughed. "You're valedictorian." I smiled. "You're lying. Don't lie to me Marcus." He laughed too and grabbed my hand. "Come on, I'll show you where it's posted"
He led me down the main hallway. On the bulletin was my name.
"Congradulations, Noelle Owen, on becoming valedictorian of this years senior class."
I smiled at the sight. "Soooooo, we gotta go out, celebrate, y'know"
"Ehhh, it's gonna be awkward though. We haven't talked in a while"
"And who's fault is that?"
"Mine"He said. I laughed. "Yeah, yours"
"But I promise it won't be awkward. We can even invite some of our other friends"
"What other friends? You know I'm not that social"
"Okay, well, me, you, Jaylee, Mysva and that new mysterious dude that Jaylee says you're dating" I rolled my eyes. She talks so much. He smirked, "So what's his name?"
"Aufiero"
"Hmph. Sounds like he's a cool dude" I chuckled. "Yeah, he's a little bit older than us though" He nodded. "Do you think he'd wanna hang out with us tonight?" I shrugged. "I'll text him later. Let's get to class though. I don't wanna be late"
We made it to Professor Juniper's class on time. Most of the students were there. "Congradulations, Noelle" Despite Professor Juniper's weird behavior, he's an alright teacher. "Thanks" We took our seats on either ends of the room and waited for class to began.
"So, why do we write?"He asked. A couple hands went up. "Alexis" She smiled. "To express ourselves" He nodded. "Tanner" "For fun" A couple students giggled. "Anybody else?" I raised my hand. "Noelle" I bit my lip as everyone turned to look at me. "To disappear from life" He smirked. "And why would we want to disappear from life?" I shrugged. "Uh, cause ya know, times get hard and maybe sometimes you just don't wanna be here, with people, so maybe we write to disappear. I don't know how it is for some people but for me, when I write, it's like im in a au. I get lost inside of my stories and ya know, I just disapppear." He smiled. "As you can see there are many reason why we write but today, and for the next couple of weeks, I want everyone to come up with their own story. Any topic. Any genre. I want a novel from you guys. When I finish reading them all, I will choose the best ones to get published. I think this will be a great opportunity for you guys to explore new things."
Hands went up and questions were asked. I leaned back in my chair thinking about what I could possibly write a novel about. I mean, the possibilities are endless, but what could I write about that I'll actually enjoy.
"Hey, Noey, did Professor Juniper assign your class a novel assignment?"Jaylee asked as we entered the car to go home. I nodded. "I don't know what I'm gonna write about though"
"Me either"She mused. "It's funny cause we can think of anything when we wanna write but when someone tells us to write, it's like we have topics block or something" I laughed harder than I should've. "I've never heard of topics block"
