Chapter 14

Normal school day and getting stalked:

Jim has learned one thing in his life and it was he would be more than happy to fight Gunmar and Bular for all eternity if it meant he wouldn't have to go to school, but that isn't happening and worst of all he now had to get up even more early as he had to cook even more food because his group had two more extra members and that is excluding his mother. He quickly prepared some tuna sandwiches as he could make that within very little time and make it equally delicious. When he got out he saw Toby, Claire, Darcy and Mary was waiting for him and Jim pretended to be surprised and asked," What are you two doing here?" "We just wanted to go to school together as friends." Replied Mary. Jim nodded and said," You guys are in luck because I made way too many tuna sandwiches today and if you guys can have them if you want." All three girls chimed in together and said," Yes!" "Toby is always raving about how good your cooking skills are." Said Darcy. Jim pretended to be surprised and asked," When did you guys start talking with Toby? I haven't ever seen you three look at Toby let alone talk with him." " Um, we talk with him at the late night fitness classes we take with him." Replied Darcy nervously." But Toby told me he was taking ballet classes at night." Said Jim. They were really in a pinch but were saved by the school bell and they rushed to quickly reach school in order to not be late but Toby, Darcy and Mary could feel Jim's suspicious look on their backs and when they reached school Jim whispered to Claire's ear saying," How was my acting?" " Flawless." Replied Claire. The day went on and after Strickler's class Jim stopped and said," Hey Strickler,can I talk to you for a second?" "Sure, young Atlas. Is something wrong?" "Yeah, I found the eye of Gunmar in a goblin nest. How did it get there?" "I kept it there for safe keeping." Replied Strickler." " I'll give it to you because you will need it in the future." Said Jim. Strickler replied," Thank you, young Atlas. Oh be and be  careful Bular has become so restless that he is planning on using the goblin horde to get the amulet and he is planning on doing it in broad daylight and also he might end up summoning a Stalkling." "Thanks for the info Strickler." Jim had a terrible feeling about this. Toby on the other hand was feeling odd as if something was observing his every move and the day went without any incident. While returning home the girls were talking and laughing and it was probably about Jim and Claire's date. Everyone including Jim left and Toby was all alone and that is when he saw a odd bird looking like a Pterodactyl came down and attacked him he quickly turned towards the canal and hurriedly opened the entrance to Heartstone Trollmarket and before the vicious creature could enter the entrance closed. Toby frantically started going down the crystal stairs and pushing thew crowd away he finally reached Blinky's home and he bust inside and said," Blinky,I was being chased by a weird bird thing which seemed like it was made of stone." Hearing this Blinky's jaw dropped and he quickly said," We need to get to Vendel right now." They rushed towards Vendel's home and Blinky entered and screamed," Master Tobias is being chased by a Stalkling." "Well, it was nice knowing you human trollhunter for a Stalkling never lets it's prey live." "But, there is something we can do right?" Asked Toby. " I'm afraid not. For the Stalkling only strikes when it's prey is alone and it is very patient for it can stalk it's prey for years if necessary. And it is immune to the effects of sunlight and it has no known weaknesses. But the good news is I have finished the analysis of the stones Atlas found." Replied Vendel." And what does those do?" Toby asked sarcastically. "Well  the blue one will give you the ability to shoot lightning out of the sword of daylight and makes your armour a horrible conductor for electricity and the yellow one will nullify impact force to zero if one falls from a height above 100 feet." Said Vendel. Before Toby could say anything Atlas and the girls entered looking for Toby and Blinky told them of the predicament Toby's in and all were shocked but Atlas was in deep thought and he finally spoke and said," The solution is present Infront of you all." "What solution are you talking about Atlas?" Asked Vendel. " You people may not know but a  Stalkling's only weakness is lighting and I know it because I have fought and won against a Stalkling. I directly hit myself with a lightning in order to electrocute it and it hurt very much and fortunately I fell upon the woods area so I was not hurt too much because the tree branches broke my fall while my armour absorbed the remaining impact force and the Stalkling turned into stone and it fell apart. But you have the drop stone and lightning stone which gives you a significant advantage." Hearing Atlas's revelation everyone's jaw dropped to the floor. Even Claire was surprised even though she knew that Jim had fought a Stalkling but how he had fought against it was unknown to her as well.
