The Demon in the Shadows

They continued their walk through the trees, watching as the monkeys jumped from branch to branch above their heads, and some came down down from the trees to say hi or to give their prince some flowers they had found and made into a crown. However, all throughout their walk, Mk couldn't shake the feeling like they were being watched, and it got to the point where even the monkeys noticed.

Wukong only really noticed when he saw 4 of the monkeys staring at something from the trees, and when he wondered what they were looking at, he felt the eyes that had been following them. He wondered how he hadn't noticed them before the monkeys, and he was assuming he was just happy that Mk was safe, that he hadn't thought of anything else.

After sensing that the demon following them was quite powerful and assuming they were probably here for a fight, he tightened his grip on Mk and began to run so he could get Mk out the way, and he could fight without worrying of him getting hurt. The shadow demon seeing this chased after but stayed far enough behind so he couldn't be detected.

As they ran further, the demon caught up to them at lightning speed, then jumped out from Wukongs shadow and going to grab Mk. Wukong had fought this demon before, so he knew what their powers were and was prepared if they ever came back, and so when the demon went to grab Mk he used his tail to knock the demon off balance and away from Mk. However, whilst falling, the demon grabbed Wukongs tail and pulled him down with him, but they didn't hit the floor. They fell for a while, and Wukong could only assume they had fallen into one of their attackers' shadow portals, and when he felt the ground beneath him, he was back in the cave but as he looked around he found Mk wasn't with him.

Whilst falling through the portal, the demon took the opportunity to take the young monkey from their brothers grasp and escape through a different exit than the one Wukong came out of. After exiting the portal outside the cave with Mk in his grasp and trying to escape, he laughed maniacally as his plan had worked, and he'd stolen the brother of Sun Wukong Great Sage Equal to Heaven. He was brought out of his moment of revelry when he felt the little monkey he was holding bite down hard on his hand and drawing blood he bit so hard. After feeling the sharp pain of the bite, he threw Mk so he was off his hand, and he ended up hitting a nearby tree.

Mk wasn't really sure what happened. All he remembered was being followed, falling, and being grabbed by the demlnnthat was following them. When his mind caught up with itself on what was going on, he felt strong arms holding him, but he knew they weren't his brothers as this demon had black fur. He looked at the demon holding him to see if that would give him a clue to who the demon was as growing up his brother had told him about all of the demons he fought. Although it didn't take him long to know who this demon was as their most defining features were their monkey, like body, and their blind right eye with a large scar over it where it looked like they had been pierced with a blunt instrument.

He knew this demons name quite well as it was one his brother wasn't quite fond of talking or even thinking about. The demons name was the Six-Eared-Macaque or just Macaque for short, and he had shadow powers, and according to Wukong, when they were younger, they were best friends and people even compared them to the Sun and Moon. However, he wasn't quite sure what happened between them as Wukong never liked to talk about it. The only thing he said about him was, "If you ever meet him. Run."

Now, I'm realising who the demon was he tried to escape,  but shortly after realising it wouldn't work, as it didst with the other demons a few days ago, so he used the only thing he could think of his teeth. He wanted to get away and knew that no matter how strong someone was, they always let go of what they were holding if it bit them.
