Chapter 8
District Crisis
Well, today is the day. Round two. Somehow, by luck or something we got a choreo for District 9. However, we’ve all barely slept as we’ve been dancing nonstop. I’m so exhausted I’m going to take the biggest nap of my life as soon as I get home. Unfortunately, I have to perform this damned song once more before I can get a good two seconds of rest. Speaking of two seconds of rest, I’m now in the waiting room, getting my two seconds of rest. For some strange reason we’re performing second, right after the dazzlings. The dazzlings are also in the waiting room, every once in a while Minho looks over at us, glaring. Every time he glares at us Chan glares back, causing Minho to either roll his eyes or quickly look away. So, we’re extremely tired and have evil otherworldly creatures on our ass. Great. “Okay guys, I know we’re all super tired but today’s the day,” Chan says, gathering our attention.
“We have to give it our all today. If we don’t we’ll be eliminated and won’t be able to break the spell.” “Like breaking it matters anymore..” Jisung mutters. “What was that?” Chan asks, his voice sounding sweet but intimidating at the same time. “What? You have a problem? There’s no point in us doing this,” Jisung says his arms crossed as he stares blankly at Chan. Chan looks taken aback, Seungmin too. “Ji, now’s not the time..” Seungmin who is next to him whispers. “And what do you mean spell? You hear three guys singing and your first thought is they’re trying to put us under a spell? C’mon, this isn’t some fantasy world.” Chan sighs loudly, he looks as if the entire world is currently on his shoulders. I can’t let Jisung continue to say dumb shit like this. Yes he’s clearly under the spell but if he can’t shut up we may not be able to perform today. “Jisung, respectfully, shut up,” I say, getting up from the couch we, except for Chan, were all sat on. “We don’t have time for this shit, if you can’t stop talking like a smartass I’ll make sure you never speak again,” I say, however, I almost immediately regretted it. Not because I feel bad but because I sound like my father. However, if he does continue his shit I am fully capable of beating the shit out of him. Many don’t know but I work out for the sole purpose of being able to beat the shit out of assholes. Well I mean, and defense, but mostly putting dumbasses in their place. As I sat back down I noticed the sirens watching from afar. They seem quite pleased to see our morale down. They did this and they know it. They know if they can’t have us be eliminated they can break us from the inside. “There Jeongin goes again, running his damn mouth! This isn’t about you y’know. I’m just saying, there is no spell, you’re all being delusional,” Jisung says, leaving all of us dumbfounded. This bitch just called me ‘he’. Then he called the rest of us ‘delusional’. Are you shitting me!? I can’t do this, not now.
Once again the sirens are watching, grinning and giggling amongst themselves. It’s like our group falling apart is a funny show to them. Just then they all left their seats and made their way to us. “Well, well, what do we have here? I didn’t know you all thought we put the entire school under a spell,” Minho says loudly, getting the attention of the other groups in the waiting room. His long purple hair flows as he approaches us, his two little shits behind him. “Are we perhaps, a threat to you?” Minho asks, now up in Chan’s face, his face cocked to the side. Chan, who is taken aback, backs up, but Minho just gets closer. He grabs Chan’s shirt, pulling him even closer. “You’re not winning this battle,” he whispers in Chan’s ear. He pushes Chan back with an almost superhuman strength, Chan falling to the ground. “Maybe you should listen to your bandmate and just quit already. Especially since you’re going around telling lies about us.” Without thinking I got up and slapped Minho right across his pretty face. I know I shouldn’t have but someone needs to shut him up. “Can you cut that shit out? You already have the entire school, what else do you want!?” “A lowly human like you wouldn’t understand,” he says, bringing his hands to my face. As they cup my face they turn into claws. His claws sink into my face and blood begins to trickle down his hands. “We want this entire world. Is that too much to ask for?” “Yeah, it is,” I grab both of his hands and throw them off my face. “Like I said, a human wouldn’t get it. We were wrongfully punished and sent here as exile, obviously we’d want to take advantage of this new world.” “Aren’t you ancient? You had your time in the spotlight, here you’re nothing but a myth so start acting like it.” Minho laughs, although Felix and Hyunjin don’t seem to get what’s funny as with the rest of us. “Sirens can’t age, idiot, maybe do your research before talking? And besides, it’s always a siren’s time to shine.” A sound from a speaker catches all of us off guard, getting Minho to shut up. “Welcome to the second round of the battle of The Bands! In a few minutes we will begin, The Dazzlings kicking off the round!” The principal says, greeting the crowd outside. “If I were you I’d quit already. Tonight we’ll become even stronger, it won’t be long until we have enough power to regain our true forms,” Minho mutters, finally leaving us. The Dazzlings all leave the waiting room to go up on stage.
