Annalise stood in the large ballroom, going over the plan in her head. She had been investigating Thomas Wayne for too long for it to be ruined now. She walked up to Thomas Wayne once she saw him.
"You must be the famous Thomas Wayne I heard so much about you."
"Yes I am. And who might you be?"
"This is my lovely wife Annalise Barnes." Bucky said, coming up to the pair
"Yes I am." Annalise said, deciding to go along with it.
"Mr Barnes I didn't know that you were here this year after the tragic passing of your parents a couple months back or that you had a wife, especially one that's so loud and so abject." Thomas Wayne said
"I wouldn't call her that. She's a very talented and loving woman. It's why I fell in love with her." bucky commented
"You and your generation. You always go on about love like it's the most important thing in the world. Back in my day, we married for business, for money. Now all I hear is love this, love that. I'm getting sick of it."
Bucky and Annalise faked a smile and excused themselves. They walked to a hallway nobody occupied and Annalise said "Really? Wife? Like anybody would believe that from Brooklyn's favorite heartbreaker."
"Really Heartbreaker?"
"To be fair you're with a new girl every week."
"What are you doing here?" Bucky asked ignoring Annalise's comment
"I'm investigating Thomas Wayne."
"Why?"
"You don't need to know that."
"Annalise. I'm trying to help."
Annalise went into defensive mode immediately and said " I don't know if you've noticed but I don't need your help. I'm not some normal girl from brooklyn who will follow you around like a puppy because you looked at her. I have more important shit going on."
" So you think you don't need anyone? That you can do everything on your own."
"I've been on my own for the majority of my life. It's how I survive."
"Surviving isn't living."
"Living is for people who don't know suffering and pain, not for people who do. Surviving is all I know."
"Then you have the most reason to live. You have to experience what you almost missed."
