Back at The Lookout, we parked our vehicles, and went out onto the lawn. "OK, Casey, we're gonna teach you how to use your Pup Pack now." Chase told me. "Yeah, let's do it." I said happily. "Alright, let's start with your net." Chase told me. I barked out my net, and it flew about ten feet before hitting the ground. "Good work, Casey." Ryder said happily. "Now, your Megaphone." Chase told me. I barked out my Megaphone. "Good, Casey." Ryder said happily. "OK, put your Megaphone away, and bark out your Zip line." Chase told me. I barked away my Megaphone, and barked out my Zip line. My Zip line flew toward a tree. "Woah!" I yelled as the Zip line pulled me toward the tree. I slammed into the tree. "I'm good." I said after getting up. "That's good." Chase said happily. "Well, two more things to go, then you training is complete, Casey." Ryder told me. "Let's get to it then." I said happily. "Alright, bark out your Flashlight." Chase told me. I barked out my Flashlight. "Good, Casey." Chase said happily. "Thanks, Chase." I said happily. "Now, let's go back to your vehicle, and bark out your Winch." Chase told me. "Yeah, let's do it." I said happily. Chase and I ran to my vehicle, and I barked out my Winch. "Good work, Casey, that's everything." Ryder said happily. "Thanks, Ryder." I said happily. "Let's head up to the command room, and tell the others that you passed your training." Ryder said happily.
Once Ryder, Chase, and I were in the command room, Ryder told the others the good news. "Pups, I have great news. Casey has passed his training mission." Ryder said happily. "That's great news." Marshall said happily. "Congrats." Rubble said happily. "You did it!" Skye said happily. "I knew you could do it." Zuma said happily. "Welcome to the team, bro." Rocky said happily. "Now, onto the next order of business," Ryder told us. "All in favor of Casey officially joining the PAW Patrol?" Ryder asked the team. Everyone raised a paw. "Well, its unanimous. welcome to the team, Casey." Ryder told me as he presented me with my Puptag and necklace, a bow and arrow on a black background. "Thanks, Ryder." I said happily. "Now, it'll take a few days to repaint your vehicle in your colors." Ryder said as he put my necklace on me, and making sure it was comfortable for me. "Welcome to the team, Casey," Ryder said happily. "You are all dismissed." Everyone walked into the elevator.
When the elevator opened on the ground floor, everyone went their separate ways. I walked over to my Father's grave. "Hello, Father. I'm a full member of the PAW Patrol now," I said to the grave. "I will always miss you Father."
I couldn't think of anything else to say, so I decided to sing.
"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields." I sang. "That was beautiful, Casey." Rocky said, coming to pay his respects as well. "Thanks, Rocky." I said.
End of book 1.
