Personality: He's the aloofness of Giyuu but the kindness of Gyomei. Even with his high status in life, ever since the incident where an Upper Moon killed and destroyed his entire village, and even once he got a new reason for life as a Demon Slayer, he is secretly suicidal in the present. He lives because he was born, and isn't dead yet. However, once he gains his life back or replaces it, he feels as happy as Rengoku.
Background: He was part of a small but wealthy family, the Tatsukamis, but then his parents died to an Upper Moon. He lived as a pickpocket and a thief for a bit, and used weapons he made himself before he became a Demon Slayer. He only stole from the rich so he could survive however, and never stole excessively. When he found out his aunt Amane Ubuyashiki were in town, her and her husband took him in and he lived with his uncle Kagaya, aunt Amane, and his cousins. Although they offered to let him stay and supported him financially, he still wanted to become a Demon Slayer. Half Revenge, half saving humanity, so he trained under Gyomei and learned Stone Breathing but found a hidden Breathing Stsyle while training as Gyomei's tsuguko.
Fun Facts: -Tatsukami is very hard to impress, and he rarely takes on Tsugukos. But instead of his standards being too high, it's because he doesn't want kids to suffer a life where they're forced to fight for their lives. He only takes on some if they have impressive skills to learn Dragon Breathing.
-He is very crafty and knows how to make weapons out of spare Nichirin metal he finds. Although his family gives him actual Nichirin metal, that's only for making swords in secret, and not to anger his swordsmith.
-His nickname is Tatsu or Yasu. He prefers the former.
-Out of the Hashira, his favorite is Rengoku since he's so nice, upbeat, and caring, and his second favorite is Himejima since he was his mentor, while his least favorite is Sanemi because of the latter's harsh ways and anger issues.
-Even with his suicidal thoughts, he never actually tries to do it since suicide is frowned upon a lot and he never even told his family. So he wants to die the most honorable way, in fighting demons.
-His name Takeyasu has the kanji for strong (剛 Take), and the kanji for protect (保 Yasu). His family name Tatsukami means dragon (竜 Tatsu), the kanji for god (神 Kami). This fits his personality to a T since he is a strong individual who always wants to protect others, but the fact his dragon breathing art is godlike.
