(This is from Y/N's POV. I will change it to other characters and to third person sometimes.)

I awoke to find myself in a pitch-black, nearly terrifying wilderness. The temperature was even lower than the winters we had experienced previously (H/T). I made the decision to get up and look around. I could only see trees for kilometers, and when I looked down at my clothes, I realized that they were covered in tears. I pondered what had happened because I knew my clothes were in fine shape from the last time I had been awake.

I made the decision to stand up straight and rub my eyes. To my surprise, when I opened my eyes again, there was a tiny brown house spider. I gave the spider a sharp slap and hurriedly turned to go. I was having trouble thinking clearly, and my wings ached.

Upon opening my wings, I discovered that they were injured by whatever had occurred prior to me dozing off or passing out. To be honest, I had never been a big fan of flying because I didn't know how to do it either, but I couldn't tell anymore.

I didn't need to fly, therefore I didn't mind not being able to. I could hear the little pitter patter of paws trailing behind me as I moved. Anxiously, I looked around, but I didn't see anything. Suddenly, I felt like something was coming at me! However, nothing occurred. I sighed with relief when I opened one of my (E/C) eyes and saw that a black and grey fox was the only thing in front of me. I had assumed that something terrible was about to happen to me.

"And here I was worrying over nothing... Hello little fox." I greeted the fox, expecting it to simply go away, but instead it turned its head, as if to see if I was following. I decided to accept the enigmatic fox's assistance and went with it.

The fox led me to what seemed like a tree after what seemed like hours, but it had eyes, and as it peered at me, I became terrified. The fox appeared unimpressed with the sentient tree.

Squeaks! They sounded like bats, just like me, and I watched as the fox swiftly disappeared! But it's really different. These were unlike the squeaks I was accustomed to hearing. A chill went down my spine as I approached the sentient tree and warily glanced about, but I didn't see anyone. Only the sentient tree and I were there.

It was beginning to frighten me because I could have sworn I heard wings fluttering, but every time I looked up, I saw nothing. I was aware that my mother always encouraged me to think about something calming to help me when I felt nervous. I therefore remembered her and her delectable cooking.

But this time, instead of calming my worries, it made them worse because thinking about my mother made me realize that I might not see her again. Right then, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye that looked to be a blue-haired male bat.

I looked back at the spot where I had seen the man, but he was gone. I started to breathe deeply, my ears flattening to my hair, which was (H/C), as a result of absolute panic. I cast my eyes to the earth, wishing the horrors would soon come to an end.
