Untold Part 1: The Strength Within

Chapter 14: Blind Eye

It is ten o'clock in the night. Iteijyu, Mabaru, and Eiji ride together and park across AC Current. They lean behind a building and camouflage themselves with dark, black hoodies as they wait for Kin. Eiji beams an unknown figure around a corner of the building. He brings a backpack and approaches them.

"You came." Iteijyu awaits.

Kin drops his backpack on the ground, dirt smoking it. "I couldn't do this heist without some equipment. Thank God me and Eiji did this for fun. I got some binoculars and walkie talkies for us."

"How can we hear you both if they crackle loud?" Mabaru asks.

"These guys are muffled so only you and Iteijyu can hear us. We'll both be on the same channel you're on right now. The rest you'll hear is static." Kin thoroughly explains. He hands both of them afterward.

"Remember. You have to find something about Minoru, Ookami, AC Current, the cult. Anything." Eiji recaps them.

"Don't underestimate the guards. They look pretty built but I believe you can take them on. For once, I'm glad you guys trained." Kin remarks.

"You think boxing can help us slip through them?" Mabaru stretches his arms out in dismay. He doubts his short training is enough to fight back.

"Don't worry. We got this." Iteijyu confidently lifts his fist.

"Hold on. Even if we got everything laid out, how would we know if this is a bust?" Mabaru flusters, trying to stay calm in the moment.

"That's why you have me and Eiji. We'll watch you from afar." Kin nods his head.

"And you have me, I got you." Iteijyu comforts him.

"Shit. This is dangerous and stupid. I bet our parents would ground us." Mabaru sighs.

"We're adults. We do what we want." Kin adds.

"Alright. Iteijyu. Mabaru. You see that over there? You have to go to the west side of the place and hide near the line of trees. It should serve as a 'safe base' if you're caught." Eiji points with his finger.

"Wait, what's the west side? How did you guys label each side?" Iteijyu asks.

Eiji stays silent and chuckles softly. "To be honest, I just made it up on the spot. Think of the whole place mirrored from here. The entrance is the North side of AC Current. The right side is east. Behind the building is south. And the left side is west, which is where you'll be going first."

"Again, me and Eiji will be on opposite ends of the place. We'll both keep you posted. Keep in mind, we're going back to back the more we notice something strange. We'll try not to annoy you." Kin jumps in.

"Are you guys ready?" Eiji leans in.

"See you all at the other side." Mabaru flicks a wave at Eiji and Kin.

This is the first time Mabaru is conducting a crime—heist specifically. Him and Iteijyu never did anything like this in the past. But, everything has led to this moment, more so what Mabaru rapidly thinks to himself. The training and supportive bond with Iteijyu is the key to find out about his unknown power. Mabaru looks forward and follows Iteijyu behind. Both crouch down and stay silent as they watch where they step. Mabaru can see a guard walking on the side. His heart begins to pump as sweat trembles down his head. Iteijyu feels the same way when he looks at him. He looks confident at first but his anxiety reflects him back. They slowly arrive near a clump of trees enough to hide. Iteijyu looks at the north side and thinks about scouting the area.

"Iteijyu. Can you hear me?" Kin crackles in the walkie talkie.

"Yeah, I hear you."

"The guards on night duty are walking counterclockwise. The ones with dark clothing on them. They seem to stop for a while. You'll have to be aware of your surroundings."
